Review | I Am Doner Bootle & New Menu Launches

It's been a little while since I've visited I Am Doner but recently they opened a new location in Bootle (I'm still waiting for them to launch a Wirral location) and they also had some new items added to the menu which meant it was perfect timing to head in and try out their new menu. I also took my bestie along so she could also try the vegan menu items for you all.

I Am Doner has just opened in Bootle on Stanley Road and is perfect for popping in for whether you fancy getting dinner on the way home or ordering lunch if you're working from home. You can either eat in, collect or have it delivered straight to you, depending on how much you want to get out of your comfy clothes. I will say all the staff in the Bootle location are absolutely gorgeous and are perfect for getting recommendations on which items to try out on the menu whether you're completely new to I Am Doner or you're looking to change up your usual order.

I headed along to the new Bootle location with my best friend and was the perfect catch up session after work in the evening. Inside they have a couple of tables so you can eat in or you can take it home with you. All you simply need to do is look at the menu with all the new choices on then use their touchscreen to order and it'll be prepared fresh for you. I really like that all of their flatbreads are made fresh in house and you can see them being warmed up and cooked. As you may have already guessed, I'm a big fan of open kitchens, is that cause I'm nosy or I just like cooking?!

It was so hard for me to choose but I ended up going for some of the new menu launches and Steph went for some of the vegan options. I am a big chicken fan so I decided to go for the new buttermilk chicken flatbread with some grated carrot, picked cabbage and crispy fried vegetables with garlic mayo and sweet chilli sauce. I don't know how they do it but the I Am Doner flatbreads are so good and adding the buttermilk chicken tenders option is great because it just just elevates the chicken one that's already on the menu by having the buttermilk coating. I am always blown away with how good these flatbreads are and it seems to be my go-to whenever I visit I Am Doner.

To try out the vegan menu, Steph decided to go for the voner street fries which is their amazing skin on fries or sweet potato fries topped with vegan doner meat (even I tried this and it was really good), topped with tomatoes, feta, red onion, grated carrot, pickled cabbage, crispy fried vegetables and topped with vegan mayo. The vegan option was really tasty and surprisingly filling. Their vegan menu offers two different options in flatbreads, rice box, street cart fries and salad box. We did get some fries and mac & cheese bites on the side which I can confirm that both are great sides for your meal.

Lastly we got the chance to try out their milkshakes which I was so excited for cause last time I visited I Am Doner, they'd just launched but the Liverpool location I went to hadn't had the equipment for the milkshakes yet. We both ended up going for oreo milkshakes and they were able to do a vegan option for Steph. I can confirm they were delicious and surprisingly filling. I'd highly recommend you take a visit to the new I Am Doner Bootle if you're over in Liverpool and I'm patiently awaiting them getting a location on the Wirral.
