I don't know if your FYP on social media have been filled with these molten hot chocolates in French cafes or if that's just mine. Luckily I recently found Petit Cafe on Lark Lane who offer these infamous hot chocolates so I had to head down for a little splash of autumn as it started to get colder so I thought I would share it all with you cause it's such a cute little spot.

Petit Cafe has two locations in Liverpool, one on Berry Street and one on Lark Lane. Petit Cafe Lark Lane is open 7 days a week offering delicious food, cocktails and Jazz music to give you that Parisian vibe. It is situated around the corner from Sefton Park and has plenty of cosy seated inside and out so no matter the weather there's a perfect spot to get cosy whilst enjoying some cocktails and Jazz music, all in candlelight for a lovely ambience.

Whilst we headed in for the incredible hot chocolates, we had to try out some bits from the rest of the menu. When we arrived, we decided to try some of the cocktails menu, they've got 5 pages of cocktails for you to choose from so no matter what you prefer, there's a cocktail to match your tastes. We ended up going for the Honeycomb Sidecar cocktail as it's filled with martel vs, grand mariner, white cacao, chamomile honey, and lemon. It was the perfect fresh and sweet cocktail without being too heavy, plus it came in a really cute glass that felt very Parisian.
Their light bites menu features some sandwiches and pastries as well as having bar-style snacks with a Parisian flare. The day that we went the sandwiches were so popular, they actually sold out before we could order them so we ended up going for some of the picky bits from the snack side of the menu. Now it'd be rude to go to a Parisian style cafe and not get a cheese board and they completely smashed it out of the park as you can see from the pictures, it was filled with 4 different cheeses, crackers, pickled onion, as well as grapes, apple and figs. We had the cheese board alongside red pepper hummus with pitta bread and we split them between me and my sister to be. The combination was gorgeous and also didn't feel too heavy which was perfect, especially with us finishing the evening with the delicious hot chocolates.
Now the Petit signature hot chocolates are their iconic menu item. It's designed to transport you to the streets of Paris, sipping on an indulgent hot chocolate. It's made with the best ingredients and is a smooth rich chocolate with freshly whipped double cream that all come freshly made to order and comes in individual containers so you can add as much chocolate and cream as you want at any time. These hot chocolates are perfect compliment to all the cold autumn weather we've been having. They were so rich and decadent so it's perfect if you've got a sweet tooth.
We had such a wonderful time at Petit Cafe, everyone was so nice and couldn't have done more to help us decide on drinks and nibbles to go for. You've got the outdoor area out front so if it's good weather you can get a nice hot chocolate and people (or dog watch!) on Lark Lane or have a hot chocolate then wander around Sefton Park.
Are you a hot chocolate fan?
Speak to you next time!
