This last week, I had the honour of being able to attend the 2025 Nursing Live conference in the NEC in Birmingham. I went along to the first day of the conference (mainly because my chronic illnesses wouldn't manage 2 days back to back) and thought I would share you all my experience on the day so you can all get prepared for the 2026 event as they've already released the dates for next year, the 9th and 10th of November 2026.
The Nursing Live conference is located all in one hall with a cafe towards the back of the hall. Throughout the room there is various stands dotted around that are a variety of lifestyle brands, medical brands, employers, educators and universities to network with, as well as charities. Throughout the hall, there was the main stage and several learning lab's, workshop spaces and the compassion cafe which allowed us to sit in on talks for CPD, do workshops together and network, as well as having talks and learning tips and tricks to look after the person behind the nurse.
I honestly had such an incredible day at Nursing Live. I left the conference feeling so inspired after listening to all the talks and networking with colleagues from around the country. This was the first conference I actually attended since being a student nurse and whilst I had a bit of an idea about what would be featured, I didn't know exactly the in's and out's of the conference and it was such a welcome surprise.
For anyone thinking of attending next year, downloading the Nursing Live app as it is so helpful for planning out your day but the conference opens 30 minutes before the opening talks which gives you time to look at the various learning lab, workshop stations and compassion cafe to decide what you want to do. I really liked that the talks had headsets so you could listen to the talks without getting distracted by the noise levels from other talks in the hall. They were really handy to use & listen to the talks on. Nursing Live chose some incredible speakers from a range of specialities and a range of topics meaning there's some CPD and talks to interest everyone.
The lovely folks from RCNi were there of course and it was really helpful as they talked us through what they had to offer for student and registered nurses. It was so helpful because I had no idea that when it came to revalidation, you can write it all on there and keep track of where you are up to on it, before printing it all off when it's due. This is so helpful cause if you didn't know, a nurse's revalidation is done over the course of 3 years before re-submitting and you need the proof you've completed it as a selection of revalidations are called up to be checked plus having it all online means you can access anywhere you get internet so if you're attending course/conference for CPD, get feedback etc, you can do it all on the go and add it to your account to keep an accurate log.
I wish my chronic illnesses would have let me attend both days cause I they had some amazing things planned on day 2 but doing 1 day with driving to and from Birmingham killed me off the weekend afterwards so I think I'll be doing the same next year and hoping it comes back to Liverpool soon!
