Event | Pier Eight Launch

My annual leave kicked off with an event with Pier Eight because their bar and restaurant opened on Water Street. They kindly invited some of us along to their soft launch to test out their cocktails, sample some of staples from their menu and listen to some great live music.

Pier Eight is an amazing Mediterranean bar and restaurant that's located at the bottom Water Street, a short walk away from James Street and Moorfields train stations which is perfect for date night or going out for cocktails with the girls. Inside the bar is central in the middle so easy access, surrounded by booths and tables, with an open kitchen and space for live music/a DJ.
I headed along to Pier Eight with some of the lovely friends I've made through blogging and we had such a blast. We were welcomed with prosecco and introduced to the different cocktails that they offer. Whilst we got our first couple of cocktails, they had some wonderful live music playing to welcome everyone into the venue. Once we were settled that's when the cooking started, I loved that the kitchen had a glass wall so you could actually see all the chefs freshly preparing the food for you. To start with we had the lamb and chicken kebab with freshly made flatbreads which was eaten by our table in minutes, the chicken tasted perfect and the marinate was gorgeous.

Even for the very fussy eaters, they have options on the menu such as the pizzas which I can confirm were absolutely delicious and it also another dish that was devoured in minutes by our table. They did also give us one of their soups with crusty bread to try out and it got rave reviews all round. I must say my favourite pieces have to be the chicken kebabs and the Mersey Iced Tea, I ordered this cocktail and during the process of making it, three other people all asked what it was and ordered so take that as a sign to order it when you go!

I would advise standing and waiting at the bar for your cocktails because as the night wore on, on our last cocktail, they offered to bring our cocktails to the table but forgot and 10 minutes later we ended up going to the bar to question where they were, only to find out that they'd been left on the bar (two of which had been taken by someone else at the event) and we had to wait for 2/3 to be remade. Overall it was such a great night, we all had an amazing time. I need to head back either with the girls or for a date night to try out more of the menu.

Where's your favourite place to head to for dinner & cocktails?

Speak to you next time!
