It is filled with 10% AHA's and 2% BHA's which both help to deeply exfoliate your skin to remove dead skin cells and excess oils. The Lactic, Mandelic and Azelaic acids help to achieve a brighter skin tone. While the Salicylic acid helps to combat blackheads and breakouts. It's £29 for a 30ml bottle with a dropper lid.
My Experiences
The Breakout Clearing Liquid Peel is designed to be used once or twice a week, applying a generous layer all over your skin after cleansing your face and leaving it on for about 10 minutes before rinsing it off with cool water. I was initially worried about using this peel because I have quite sensitive skin so I was worried about having a small reaction particularly on my cheeks, thankfully I didn't have any reactions to it. Dermalogica actually specify that it is normal to get a slight tingling sensation when you apply it, that is the acids getting to work on your skin.
I've noticed over the last couple of months, I've been getting little breakouts on my forehead and I've noticed that since I added this liquid peel into my weekly skincare routine these little breakouts has definitely improved. When I apply it, I've noticed that it has an instantly cooling sensation with a slight tingling sensation when I rubbed it into my skin which I actually found really nice especially when my cheeks get hot. When you apply the Breakout Clearing Liquid Peel it's got more of a thick serum texture then once rubbed in, it leaves a slight thicker layer on your skin till you wash it off.
I really liked that this liquid peel doesn't have much of a scent to it which is great if you're looking for minimal fragrance in your skincare products. I applied this liquid peel twice a week and I really started noticing results on weeks three and four of consistent use. Initially I got a couple of more breakouts than usual then on week 3, my breakouts drastically improved and I barely had any. I noticed my blackheads on my nose and chin cleared up as well as the texture on the sides of my chin and around my nose started becoming smoother and less noticeable.
Overall, I'm pretty impressed with the Breakout Clearing Liquid Peel. It's such a reasonable price and even if using generously with every application because you only need to use once or twice a week, it really does last. My bottle is barely hitting below the top of the writing on the bottle and I've been using it regularly twice a week so I have a feeling the bottle will last me at least for the remainder of the year.
