More and more great places are popping up in Liverpool that are brilliant for date night, most recently Cheers Liverpool opened up Tops which is their interactive darts club on the top floor (get it?!) that offers food, cocktails and interactive darts games. They kindly invited us in for a date night to test out the Tops floor, test out their menu and see just how competitive we could get.

Cheers Liverpool
Cheers Liverpool is a new bar that's opened on Bold Street just up from Liverpool Central station, it's perfect whether you just want to get something to eat or you want to bring out your competitive side. You can either book or simply walk in, they also have live music or DJ's regularly. The downstairs of Cheers is a great place to get food, drinks and listen to live music, the upstairs is the Tops Dart Club.
Tops Dart Club
The Tops Dart Club is situated on the top floor of Cheers Liverpool and offers several interactive dart platforms as well as a private bar so there's no need to be walking up and down the stairs for a cocktail and plenty of seating while you wait for a dart board to open up. When we arrived they talked us through the dart boards and games you can play as well as gave us some cocktail and menu recommendations to get us started.
The interactive darts boards are so fun, we delved straight into them before we decided on what food and drinks to go for. They have the traditional darts games or as we played, the games where you throw the darts at the board and hope for the best (especially me who didn't have a clue how to play darts!). We started off playing some of the staff's favourite games to play on the board and I would highly recommend when you visit to ask the staff what their favourite games are cause they have some really good recommendations that are really fun to play. We had our board for an hour and for two people playing, the games aren't super long so the hour actually felt like a fairly long time and for £14 for two people, it's such a good price whether you're looking for a date night activity or something fun to do with friends.
Off the menu we decided to go for one of the Detroit pizzas and one of the Hoagie rolls to share between the two of us. Mr A knows just how much of a fussy eater so I was banned from getting the margherita pizza because I need to start expanding my taste buds and eating like an actual adult instead of the child like I currently eat so I chose the hot 'nduja pizza because it sounded amazing with the hot honey drizzled on top. The Detroit pizzas come in either a 6" or 9" option on a thick base, a 6" pizza was perfect for sharing between the two of us. We also went for the chicken parma Hoagie rolls which was really nice but you can't go out with a chef without him being critical about the food so I'd recommend if you get any of the Hoagie rolls that come with sauces on, to get them with bread toasted as we found that cause we were playing and eating, the sauce made the bread go a little bit soggy cause we didn't eat it all straight away.
On their cocktail menu, Tops offer 10 different cocktails to choose from as well as frozen cocktails, jugs of cocktails and a variety of shots to choose from. Between Monday to Thursday before 6pm and Friday before 2pm, you can get their cocktails in a 2 for £12 during these happy hours. During our time there we tried almost all the cocktails on the menu and can confirm that the raspberry gimlet and painkiller cocktails were some of the best of the ones that we tried. I definitely need to head back to try out their frozen cocktails cause their frose and frozen daiquiri's sound too good to pass up.
It was such a fun date night and I'd love to head back for a fun evening with friends and cocktails. It's a short walk from the train station so not too far from public transport and it's so reasonably priced so it's ideal when you want a fun evening out especially after Christmas. Cheers Liverpool and Tops is on my list of places to head back too when I'm next out with my friends!
