I feel like I blinked and this month has completely flew by, so much has happened this from a health perspective which I think has caused things to just fly by before I knew it! I'm ready for 2024 to be on the up and up but let's me share some of the things that I've been loving this during February.
Garnier Vitamin C Cleanser, Brightening Vitamin C Day Serum & Hyaluronic Cryo Jelly Eye Patches
With everything going on with my health, I've been trying to focus on my skincare. This month my go-to facial wash has been the Brightening Vitamin C cream cleanser from Garnier, I really like how it helps to gently cleanse my skin whilst also hydrating my skin and leaving it with a lovely glow. It has a lovely fresh scent and doesn't leave my skin feeling tight or stripped. Thanks to being pretty unwell, I've needed a vitamin C serum to help brighten my skin and thankfully the Garnier Vitamin C Brightening serum has been the perfect dry-store friendly solution, it's such a lightweight serum and smells really nice and fresh so it's perfect for using every morning. I really like that it helps to give my skin even more of a glow in combination with the Vitamin C cleanser but also is working to target any dark spots. I've become a huge fan of the Hyaluronic Cryo Jelly eye patches this month because I look and feel rubbish right now with being so unwell, these eye patches help me to relax whilst the cooling effect also helps me to feel more awake and reduce any puffy eyes. These eye patches are also amazing when I get a migraine but my head is too sensitive for my ice pack, these help the head pain when I pop them on my forehead without being too cold that it's bordering on painful when I have a migraine.
GrandeLash Lash Serum
I have always struggled with my eyelashes being fine and very straight so this month I've been adding this GrandeLash serum into my evening skincare routine and at first I was a bit worried about reacting to it or it irritating my eyes, thankfully none of that happened. I'm excited to see the difference with continued use of this serum. I find it so quick and easy to use as it has a really thin brush to make it easier to apply it to my lash line without poking myself in the eye (something I do quite often when I'm doing my makeup!).
Dermalogica Stabilizing Repair Cream & Deep Breakout Liquid Patch
I've been a huge fan of the Stabilizing Repair cream since it launched but especially this month with feeling so unwell, my skin has really been through it so this moisturiser has been helping my skin to recover whilst I've been trying to get some beauty sleep overnight. The Stabilizing Repair Cream has such a lovely balm formula that then melts into a thicker cream texture that leaves what feels like a protective layer on your skin. I find this cream really soothing and comforting especially because when I'm unwell or having a flare up, my skin ends up very dry. I am a big fan of pimple patches for when I get breakouts and I've been loving the Deep Breakout Liquid Patch from Dermalogica as it dries down to act as a patch to help soothe, clear and prevent future breakouts. As soon as I start to get a breakout coming, I pop this liquid patch on and it helps to calm the redness whilst also tackling the breakout. I really like popping it on before I go to bed and they are looking less red and are reduced in size when I wake up the next morning.
Gucci Brume De Beaute Glow Hydrating Mist
I 100% blame my friend Lynsey for this purchase but one of my favourite facial mists is the Gucci Brume De Beaute Glow Hydrating Mist but I don't want to use it too often cause I really don't want to run out too fast! This facial mist is filled with black rose oil and hyaluronic acid to help soothe and hydrate your skin. It's designed to be used throughout your skincare and makeup routine to help prepare, set and refresh your skin during the day. I really like using this facial mist during my skincare routine to help give my skin a boost of hydration but also to help refresh my skin throughout the day, because it has such a fine mist it can hydrate your skin without disturbing your makeup.
Elemis Superfood Facial Oil
With me having dry skin anyway, when I get ill or have a flare up my skin gets more dry than normal so for the last month having the Elemis Superfood Facial Oil has been perfect for keeping my skin nourished as it's filled with 9 superfood oils including broccoli, rosehip, flaxseed, and daikon radish which help to plump, nourish, and make your skin look more radiant. I really like how easily absorbed and doesn't leave your skin feeling greasy. This has been my go-to serum before bed because it's got such a beautiful, relaxing scent and really helps me to wind down (I've been really struggling with winding down as well as struggling with going to sleep and staying asleep).
Hourglass Cosmetics No 28 Primer
Again this was another purchase that was 100% Lynsey's fault because she got me onto this No 28 primer when she used to work at Hourglass Cosmetics. This primer is not only a facial primer but it also has serum included in the formula with 28 skin beneficial ingredients to help nourish and prepare your skin for makeup. A little of this No 28 primer goes a long way and is perfect if you have a drier skin type cause it can really help nourish. When I have felt up to wearing makeup this month or even on the days when my skin has felt particularly dry, I've popped this on and it really helps hydrate my skin throughout the day. As you can tell the scent of the products I use is a big thing for me and this Hourglass primer is no different, it's got such a lovely luxury, relaxing scent so you really feel like you're pampering yourself when you use it.
L'Oreal True Match Nude Tinted Serum
Now I used to be a huge full coverage type of girl when it came to foundation but at the moment I've becoming a big fan of medium coverage foundations and tinted serums cause they're perfect for giving me the coverage I need without feeling like my skin is weighed down with makeup. Lately I've been loving the L'Oreal True Match Nude tinted serum because it a really nice hydrating base and it actually comes in a shade that is pale enough for me and isn't ridiculously orange which is a huge plus. I do like that it's such a easy product to use for days when I want to put a bit of makeup on but don't want to spend ages doing my makeup. This tinted serum can either be applied with your fingers, a sponge or a brush and get such a quick and easy application every time. I love how lightweight this base is and it doesn't leave my skin feeling all cakey.
Rimmel Multi-Tasker Concealer
Thanks to having fine lines under my eyes since I was a teen and being chronically fatigued means unless I want people telling me how tired I look all the time, a good quality concealer is so important. I've recently gotten into loving the Rimmel Multi-Tasker Concealer because it's a lightweight concealer that I can build up when I need to. I really like that this is super easy to blend out and is actually in a shade that's pale enough for me without being almost white so it doesn't look unnatural if I decide to just have a day wearing just this concealer and powder. I really like that it gives me coverage without feeling super heavy or cakey which is perfect if like me you have fine lines. I have also heard this is supposed to be a dupe of a very famous American concealer.
Huda Beauty Cherry Blossom Cake Easy Bake Powder
I recently got the chance to try out this Easy Bake powder from Huda Beauty in their new Cherry Blossom Cake shade which as a pale girly is perfect for me cause I struggle with some setting powders as they can make my foundation look more tan than it actually is or like the Laura Mercier setting powder that everyone raves about, it straight up made me look orange. Thankfully this Huda Beauty Easy Bake powder is perfect for setting my under eye concealer and also brightening my under eye and making my under eye bags look less obvious without feeling heavy or looking chalky.
Kylie Cosmetics The Mauve Palette
I got the Kylie Cosmetics The Mauve palette recently and it's been my one of my go-to palettes to use when I'm doing my makeup mainly because I'm a magpie with sparkly eyeshadows and this palette has 3 beautiful pink toned sparkle shades. I really like how easy these shadows are to use and they don't give you a load of fall out which is perfect for like me when you do your face makeup before your eyes.
NYX Thick It, Stick It Gel & Micro Brow Pencil
I have pretty light, thin brows especially on the tail of my eyebrows so I'm a big fan of doing my brows so I feel like I actually have some shape to my face. Recently I've gotten into these products from NYX and they're a great budget friendly option that really do work. This month I've been loving using the Thick It, Stick It gel and the Micro Brow pencil together to give my brow a fuller, thicker shape. The gel is perfect cause it can be layered to help to my eyebrows appear thicker as it has hair-like fibres and also gives you a natural finish. The brow pencil is great for doing fine strokes to look like your brows and look like natural hairs so I can fill in the tails where things are a bit more sparse.
Urban Decay Space Cowboy Eyeshadow
I'm not going to lie, I didn't really get the hype when I first tried it, turns out I still need to learn how to use it compared to normal eyeshadows. These Moondust eyeshadows from Urban Decay are absolutely amazing and the Space Cowboy is such a beautiful shade and I get nothing but compliments when I wear this. As a self confessed magpie for sparkles, I love this shade cause it looks beautiful worn on it's own or with other shades. I simply pop the primer potion on then put this all of the lid or it also looks beautiful just put on the inner corner with a basic lid colour on the lid.
Maybelline The Falsies Surreal Mascara
I have pretty fine, straight lashes so I'm always on the hunt for a good mascara that actually leaves my eyelashes curled all day. This month I've been loving the Falsies Surreal mascara because it helps my eyelashes look thicker and more curled than they normally do, it can also be layered up to give that thicker lash look which is especially handy for a fine lashed girl like me. I also find this mascara really easy to remove using my Elemis cleansing balm and it doesn't sting or burn my eyes when I'm rubbing it off.
