I love visiting new places to eat so you know when I get an email inviting me in for food and a quiz night, and I'm able to bring extra people along, you know I'm hot on that email! I got the chance to head along to Holy Garage with some family for pizza and a quiz night which I was excited for cause it's been a rough week with my chronic illnesses so I was excited for a night where I could try and pretend to be 'normal'.

Holy Garage is located on Mount Pleasant in Liverpool and is short walk away from Lime Street train station and town meaning you can head there after shopping or enjoying the city centre or head to one of their events like the quiz night. They offer a menu of Detroit-style pizza and craft beers with a specials board meaning you can get some limited edition recipes depending on when you visit.
We headed in on a Wednesday evening which was their Smartphone Quiz Night and you'll be able to find it there every Wednesday evening from 7pm. On their menu, they have 3 standard pizzas that are always available in margherita, pepperoni and buffalo. You can also check out their specials board which they currently have Hawaiian style pizza and garlic bites. We ended up going for the special hawaiian pizza, margherita pizza and then some of the garlic bites to share between us as well as some of the hot honey and garlic dips. I am completely new to Detroit-style pizza and I can confirm these are delicious and you need to top them off with the hot honey cause that is just chef's kiss! Also if they have the garlic bites on their menu when you visit, don't question it and just get them.
Their drinks menu contains 3 standard cocktails, a selection of wine and craft beers, coffees and soft drinks. I was driving so I just had a pornstar martini before switching to soft drinks and I can confirm the cocktails are delicious but I did pay for it and ended up with a migraine so I unfortunately had to leave before the quiz started but I have been to a smartphone quiz before and they are honestly so much fun, you pick a team name and as the questions come up, you get a selection numbers of answers and then at the end the winners get a prize. Honestly having some pizza, drinks and then getting competitive over the quiz is such a fun evening and I highly recommend it to anyone who is looking for a fun night that is still down to earth and not too high spoons.
Are you a fan of Detroit style pizza?
