I swear my friend Lynsey has been trying to get me to go for food at The Quarter in Falkner Street in Liverpool for ages and we've finally managed to find an evening that we were both free where we didn't have influencer events and could properly catch up on things and put the world to right over some food and of course an Aperol spritz.
If you haven't been before The Quarter is up in the Georgian Quarter up the by the universities and it's honestly just such a pretty place to go and get photos and go for food and drinks in. It's a family owned business that's been around since 2003 and they pride themselves on having a progressive, locally sourced and sustainable menu. They work in close partnership with James Place, a local men's suicide prevention charity to help spread awareness. They also work with Liverpool Community College to give trainee chefs experience in a busy restaurant kitchen as well as working with Refood to turn all of their food waste into renewable energy so overall they really are a business that focus on giving back to other people.
We decided to sit outside on the terrace which with some of the late summer sun we've been having, it was like we're away on holiday (also worth noting that the terrace tables can't be booked, so you have to risk them being available or waiting for one to open up). We got some drinks whilst we looked over the menu and ngl there was too much delicious sounding food to choose from!
We decided to go for the homemade fishcakes, Caesar salad, spaghetti carbonara and some truffle and parmesan fries. They were so quick and attentive with getting our food and drink orders and bring them out when they were ready so everything was fresh and hot. I can confirm their truffle and parmesan fries and their pasta dishes were bloody delicious. I was very tempted to go for the Spanish chicken dish so I think next time I'm going to have to go for that dish next time I go. Honestly there's so much choice, they're dog friendly and they're very open to make changes to dishes if you have allergies or if you're just fussy like me.
