Prior to this year, I've never tried the Pro-Collagen Cleansing Balm from Elemis and I've quickly become a big fan of it in the last couple of months, this cleansing balm has been a cult product for so many years and I can't believe that in all my years of doing beauty and skincare content that I've not tried it sooner but now that I have, I can already seen why it's been such a loved product for so many people.
The Pro-Collagen Cleansing Balm
The Pro-Collagen Cleansing Balm is Elemis's number 1 best seller and is designed to blend into 3 different formulas, starting as a balm then transforming into an oil before transforming into a milk before you wash it off. It helps to easily remove makeup, as well as hydrating and nourish your skin. It's filled with rose, mimosa waxes with elderberry, starflower and Optimega oils. The blend of 9 essential oils that include lavender, eucalyptus and chamomile which gives you a total spa-like experience and truly helps to relax you.
I have pretty sensitive eyes so I am really picky with makeup removal product cause I hate that stinging feeling some makeup removers cause you to have, thankfully since I've started testing out this cleansing balm I've never noticed it causing any stinging or burning and I don't get any of that horrible foggy eyed feeling if it gets into your eyes. Because of the scent, I find it so calming and relaxing so I keep it for the first cleanse in my evening skincare routine and use my old tried and true Dermalogica Precleanse for my first cleanse in the morning skincare routine. I really do feels like I'm having a spa experience when I use this, it really helps me relax, unwind and switch off from my day. I feel like this is what every spa uses when you go and have a facial and my brain just immediately thinks of getting a facial whenever I use it.
I really like that this cleansing balm can tackle my waterproof makeup without stripping my skin or stinging. I like how it can literally melt away all my makeup with barely any rubbing which is perfect if you have sensitive skin, I find that if I'm having to rub at my skin for too long with a product, it ends up looking red and irritated and that doesn't happen with this cleansing balm at all. I will say that I've tried the Rose version and I actually think I prefer the original version better, it's less oily and I noticed that the Rose one stung my eyes. I don't know if anyone else is with me on that one?!
