We are quickly approaching Autumn, I feel like this year has just completely flown by! With the approach of the cold weather, those like me who suffer with dry skin will be reaching for every serum in our arsenal but if you're unsure what to use for your dry skin, let me share a few of my top picks for dry skin.
Antipodes Divine Face Oil
I've been a big fan of Antipodes products for about a year now and have used this Divine face oil throughout the cold weather and also during the sunny heatwave we were having and it worked perfectly all year round for me. It works out at £23 for a 30ml bottle which isn't too awful cause even for my particularly dry skin, I find that a couple of drops does my entire face and neck including if I want to use it with a Gua Sha tool. The Divine face oil comes with a dropper to apply it (please don't let the dropper touch your face cause any bacteria on your skin will transfer back into the bottle and multiple whilst you're using it!), I pop 4 drops onto my palm and then warm it up by rubbing by hands together before gently patting it into my skin.
I really love putting this on before I go to work cause the face masks suck the moisture out of your skin so I find if I put a couple of extra drops on, it gives my skin some much needed moisture without making my skin look oily. I will put this facial oil on about 5am and my skin looks pretty hydrated till about 6/7pm. The Divine face oil has just a lovely relaxing scent so I really love using it after work to take a few minutes to massage my skin with my gua sha to wind down and kind of debrief about what my day has been like which is particularly helpful if I have a really hard or upsetting shift.
L'Aves Bright & Lift Facial Elixir
I've been using the L'Aves Bright & Lift Facial Elixir since Autumn of 2020 and it's one that I tend to keep coming back to again and again. It's the wonder product for me from L'Aves, it's just such a luxurious serum so you feel like you are truly having a pamper when you use this. It is a little more on the pricey side at £65 for a 30ml bottle, but I used it for a month straight twice a day and I only used a fraction of the bottle. I love using this facial oil when I'm having a pamper evening as it's makes my skin so soft and nourished. The scent of the Divine facial oil 100% reminds me of Blackpool rock! I particularly love using this during the colder months cause I find it so nourishing and hydrating, I also find that my fine lines look a lot better on the days I've used this face oil.
LilSpa Regenerating Hemp Seed Face Oil
I have been a paying customer of LilSpa for a couple of years now (I think?) and since being a regular customer I've heard it all, from the start of her business, to testing some products to actually launching and her products being loved by many. The Regenerating Facial oil is filled with Hemp seed oil and Rosehip oil and are designed to be used and safe for all skin types, it also can be used for more than just a facial oil.
Suzanne's Regenerating Hemp Seed oil is completely handmade on the Wirral, 100% vegan and can be used for anything including skincare, use of scars, on patches of dry skin or eczema (don't apply to areas of broken skin), cuticle oil, to massage skin with a Gua Sha stone and it can even me used on areas of concern on children 6 months+. I think this serum is the most reasonable for it's price, it's only £18 for a 30ml bottle with a dropper lid and considering that the Hemp Seed oil is 100% homemade, I would honestly use so much more for it. I've been using this with the LilSpa Gua Sha stone to give my face and neck a massage. This is another serum that I've really loved wearing to work cause it gives my skin hydration all day and I've also noticed that helps my breakouts look less red and irritated.
Dermalogica Smart Response Serum
I wrote about this Dermalogica Smart Response Serum last month but I've loved using it so much it's the newest addition to this Top Picks blog post. I find that one and a half pumps does my own face and neck (please don't forget to put your skincare onto your neck!) and I am in the process of actually filming a wear test video for the Smart Response Serum but this serum melts into my skin and instantly made my skin look brighter and I've noticed it's helped me with how dry my skin was throughout the day.
Celimax Noni Energy Ampoule
I wrote about the Celimax Noni skincare back in January and it was my first time trying Korean skincare but I instantly became a big fan of this Noni Energy Ampoule straight away. I actually love the dropper part of this serum bottle, the dropper is actually hidden inside the lid and when you start to unscrew it, it sucks up the perfect amount of serum for your entire face so you're not wasting your product.
You get a 30ml bottle of the Noni Energy Ampoule for only £17.90 so it is the cheapest serum I have in this post. For me, I find this to have a more gel like consistency rather than your usual liquid serum consistency which I honestly really liked during the hotter months cause I feel like it was very cooling for my skin when it was sweltering.
