I don't know if I've ever introduced you lovelies to my dog and cat, both are getting older now so this year we decided to do a bit more than we usually do for his doggy birthday. This year we decided to have a puppy party after all the trick or treaters had been (yes my dog is a Halloween baby and where we live has mostly younger children which means our trick or treaters usually don't knock too late into the evening!). For his puppy party, I used some of my baking skills to whip up some pupcakes for him and I thought I would share the recipe with you all because he loved them!
Usually I make this into a big cake (like a normal birthday cake), but this year he has gained a little bit of weight due to him getting older and getting more stubborn with walks in cold, wet weather. This year I decided to go for little cupcakes style that way we could freeze them easier and treat him periodically. These pupcakes are dog and human-friendly (as long as you remove the doggy treats) and they were gobbled straight up!
To make these cute pupcakes, you will need:
- 3/4 cup of flour - you can use whichever flour you wish
- 1 egg
- 2 grated carrots - I used two large carrots to make them extra healthy
- 1/4 cup peanut butter - be very careful with peanut butter and dogs as some peanut butter brands have begun to take sugar out and replace it with Xylitol which is toxic for dogs
- 1/4 of cooking oil
- 3/4 of honey
- 1 tsp of vanilla extract
- 1 tsp of baking powder
- Philadelphia
- Dog treats
Speak to you next time!
