I am in absolute shock at how fast 2023 has gone, I feel like I was just writing this type of post for my 2023 goals and it's time to tell you all some my goals for 2024 and I'm hoping that you'll all help to keep me accountable with them throughout the year. I might even do some check in's throughout the year, either like 3 monthly or every 6 months, let me know what you guys would prefer to see.

Try An Anti-Inflammatory Diet
If you don't know already, I've got fibromyalgia and then this year I've not only been diagnosed with arthritis in my hand that got injured in 2022 but also SI joint dysfunction, AKA my body is 20 shades of messed up right now. Recently I've been hearing more and more things about using an anti-inflammatory diet which is a Mediterranean style way of eating which focuses on filling your diet with healthy fats, lean proteins, and plant compounds to help with inflammation in your body. I'm doing all I can right now with medication and physio that I thought it is worth a try one to improve my eating habits but it also can't hurt to try and help my chronic health conditions.
Trying The 65 Thrive Challenge
Now that my asthma is in a somewhat better place than it was for the last couple of months of 2023, I'm going to start the 65 Thrive challenge that I found from the lovely Mollie Rose on Tiktok. It focuses around waking up 30 minutes earlier on weekdays, daily medication (prescription & supplements), 10 minute morning stretch, 10 minute morning meditation, 10 minute daily space tidy, eat clean (also alcohol but I don't drink), drink 2L of water, 30-45 minutes exercise a day, morning & evening skincare routine, 10 minute journal/read 10 pages. The idea is that you do these 10 things every day for 65 days to slowly build good habits and help improve yourself. Pretty much all of these habits are things that I already do or I am a bit patchy with doing so I want to make them more of a habit that I do without even thinking.

Less Phone Time
Working in social media, I am on my phone a hell of a lot so this year I really want to limit how much time I'm spending on my phone as I've definitely been guilty of doom scrolling on Tiktok, particularly in the morning and then feeling like I've wasted my time which in turn makes my anxiety worse. This year I'm going to be setting the time restraints for apps on my phone, I also want to create a habit of not going on my phone in the first or last hour of the day.

Less People Pleasing & Saying Yes Less
I am so bad with people pleasing and saying yes to too much which especially with my physical and mental health in it's current state it's becoming a bit too much. I think that it probably relates back to my childhood but I really worry and become anxious about letting people down by turning down invites to things so I say yes a lot and then end up paying for it when it comes to my health so this year I want to be really selective with what things I say yes to and also really focus on not being a people pleaser.

Do A Little Bit Of Self Care Every Week
With my anxiety, something that I really should do more of is little acts of self care. I don't want to put the pressure to have a self care day every week but I want to start sprinkling in small acts of self care which can be anything from logging off social media, doing a face mask, putting my phone on DND whilst I get work done, reading, listening to a podcast, having a coffee with friends, going for a walk with Rosie. I just basically want to add some things into my day or week that bring me some peace and help me wind down and take care of myself without leaving me feeling like I've been unproductive.

What are some of the goals you're setting for yourself this year?
Speak to you next time!
