How on earth are we at the end of January already?! I feel like we were just celebrating Christmas and now the first month has come and gone. This month, I've got quite a few new products that I've been testing out over the last month and they've quickly become my favourite. From skincare, to makeup to fragrance and supplements.
Garnier Skin Active Brightening Vitamin C Cream Cleanser
As I spoke about in my latest blog post, I've been loving the Garnier Brightening Vitamin C cream cleanser as it's great at this time of year for helping to tackle dry, dull skin. This cleanser has been my go-to to wash my face in the morning, it leaves my skin feeling clean without feeling stripped and tight. I'm loving how soft my skin is after using it and you get a big 250ml for less than £10 so it's a great budget friendly option.
Dermalogica Hyaluronic Ceramide Mist & Pro-Collagen Banking Serum
Between the Winter weather and picking up whatever viral bug is going round that I picked up, the Dermalogica Hyaluronic Ceramide Mist and the new Pro-Collagen Banking Serum have been lifesavers this month for my even drier than normal skin. I've been a big fan of the Hyaluronic Ceramide mist since it launched and I actually love using it in combination with this new serum or really any hyaluronic acid cause it really helps to plump up my skin and to hydrate my skin. The new Pro-Collagen Banking serum is an absolute dream for someone with dry and sensitive skin like me. It's designed to be a powerful serum that helps to promote, protect, and preserve skin's collagen today so that you have plenty for tomorrow which helps to give you plumper, more luminous and hydrated skin. I've used this a handful of times since it arrived towards the end of January and honestly my skin has never looked or felt better!
L'Occitane Immortelle Reset Eye Serum
I've been using this L'Occitane Immortelle eye serum on and off for months now and I fall in love with it more and more every time that I use it. It leaves the skin under my eyes feeling so soft and nourished so I love using it before I pop on makeup and even on the days when I'm make-up free, this helps to skin to look a little bit brighter the next morning when I leave it on overnight cause it helps to tackle the fatigued look that I always had 24/7. I really love that this Immortelle eye serum has Immortelle Oil Extract suspended in the serum that release as you massage it into the skin.
Kiehl's Super Multi-Corrective Soft Cream
Between being sick and the cold Winter weather during January, I've been loving adding in the Kiehl's Super Multi-Corrective Soft Cream cause I'm officially 31 one now and can use all the help with aging gracefully as this moisturiser helps to firm and lift skin, reduce wrinkles, boost radiance, improve elasticity, and give you an even texture and tone. This Soft Cream from Kiehl's has such a great gel texture and it literally melts into your skin leaving it feel so plump and hydrated so it's perfect for the days when my body and skin feel like it's been through the ringer.
Essence Vault 27 Perfume
I recently got the chance to try out some perfumes from Essence Vault in 27 which is inspired by Lady Million which was one of the first couple of perfumes that I remember trying. Thankfully Essence Vault allows me to get some of my favourite designer-inspired perfumes that smell great and last all day. I have been loving their Tom Ford ones but because my migraines have been kicking butt, I've been trying to go for lighter fragrances that aren't likely to trigger any migraines. This scent has citrus, neroli, raspberry, jasmine, white honey, gardenia, patchouli, and amber.
Wild Refillable Deodorant
I've officially switched over completely to Wild Refillable Deodorant and so far I'm really loving it. It leaves me smelling great and helps when I get worked up especially with my anxiety to help prevent me getting all sweaty. As I've used aluminium deodorants since I was a teenager there has been a switching over process as my body gets used to not having aluminium there in my deodorants. I do find that if I put too much on that I will get a small amount of staining on my bra/bralette but it easily comes off and only using 2-3 swipes per underarm is the right amount of me for me not to get any transfer. I've already got my eyes on some of their new scents in the deodorant refills for my next refill cause they sound amazing.
Huda Beauty Cherry Blossom Colour Corrector
This colour corrector in Cherry Blossom from Huda Beauty is one of my most recent products that I've fallen in love with. I've never tried any products from Huda Beauty before so I was really excited to test this out when it arrived. I've struggled with dark circles since I was a teenager, it's something that's just in my genetics unfortunately and due to having pale skin, I've always struggled to find a colour corrector that actually helps my dark circles but also doesn't make my skin look really orange or dark when I cover it over with concealer. I really like that once blended out, I don't even need to put concealer on top. I can simply blend it into my foundation then pop a setting powder over it and that's all I need. It's also a perfect addition when I've had a bad nights sleep and my dark circles are extra dark cause it really helps to balance out discolouration when I'm not wearing any makeup.
Rare Beauty Liquid Blush in Hope
Yes I am a million years late to the Rare Beauty liquid blush but my favourite shade is the Hope shade cause I can give my cheeks a flush of product without needing to put a million layers to build it up. Especially with being so ill at the moment, I do like wearing this on my make-up free days because it helps to give my skin a flush of colour which is particularly helpful when I look sickly or pale cause any of my chronic illness folks will know how awful it is to be told you look unwell when you already feel rubbish.
The Beauty Crop Vitamin Babe Setting Powder
I've been a big fan of this Vitamin Babe setting powder from The Beauty Crop, I've been particularly loving it for setting my under-eyes cause it's such a lightweight powder and sets my liquid or cream products without moving around my makeup around or leave it looking all powdery. It currently comes in a range of different shades from transparent to deep and rich to pink, peach, lilac, banana, and banana lite.
Charlotte Tilbury Beautiful Skin Foundation
I am a dry skin girlie so I'm all about foundations that give me a hydrating finish so you know as soon as I finally tried the Beautiful Skin foundation from Charlotte Tilbury, I quickly fell in love with it. Not only has it got a hydrating formula but I find it so lightweight yet it has a buildable coverage so perfect for adding a little extra over any breakouts or areas where you feel like you could do with more coverage. This foundation currently has 30 shades with a range of neutral, cool and warm shades.
Sleepvitamins.co Melatonin Sleep Gummies
I have been struggling badly with my sleep thanks to a bad flare up of my chronic pain and whilst there was a medication that my GP offered to prescribe, I didn't want to use it due to side effects so instead I've been using melatonin gummies which my GP is happy with to try and help my sleep improve with the hope that my chronic pain and chronic migraines will start to get better. One of the brands I've been using and have repurchased several times is the Sleepvitamins.co Melatonin Sleep gummies. They taste great and I take 2 gummies which is 6mg of melatonin and usually when I take them, they help me to drift off within 30-45 minutes, on bad pain or migraine days, I'll take an extra one gummy if it's been several hours and I still can't get to sleep which is usually just enough to help me drift off plus I don't wake up all groggy and exhausted the next morning.
