It's not often that I get the chance to try and review food places on my side of the water so I was really excited when the lovely folks at The Good Hood invited me in to try out their menu in their newly launched New Brighton location. I of course had to take the boy along (e.g the non fussy eater!) so we could try and review a selection of goodies for you all!
The Good Hood started in West Kirby and has now recently expanded to opening another location in New Brighton and it's just a short walk from the waterfront so you can enjoy the sun at the beach then go get some delicious food and cocktails before heading home. The Good Hood New Brighton is all about giving you that NYC vibe, from the decor to the delicious food and the cocktails.
We ended up loving the Hydrated Passionfruit Swizzle cocktail, it was so delicious, it didn't taste like it was an alcoholic cocktail and they were far too easy to drink! For food, we ended up going to the Challoumi and I Am Special burgers. I'm not normally a fan off bbq sauce and this burger completely blew me away. Who wouldn't love fried chicken, streaky bacon, grilled halloumi, sticky bbq sauce and garlic mayo. It was such a great combo and even if you aren't a huge fan off bbq sauce then you can still enjoy it. It was so delicious and I can't wait to head back for more.
I won't lie, I was so excited to try their frozen alcoholic slushes but we were slightly too early for them so I'll definitely have to be heading back to try more of the menu as well as their alcoholic slushes, especially with the beautiful sunshine we've been having on the Wirral lately. I can't think of a better place to spend the evening after work having dinner. The whole menu is so reasonably priced too which just makes it better and better cause you don't have to spend the earth just to get a nice dinner out.
