It's been a little while since I got the chance to visit Nova Scotia Liverpool and I was very lucky that I got the chance to head in and try out their new afternoon tea which I was so excited to try out and I even treated my mother to it. I wasn't sure what to expect and how traditional Nova Scotia would go or whether they would add in a few twists along the way. The afternoon tea is brand new to the menu and is available Monday to Friday, 2pm-5pm.
We were booked in for 2pm which was the perfect time as it wasn't super busy so we could sit and enjoy the afternoon tea and catch up whilst the lunch crowd was finishing up. Whilst the afternoon tea was being finished being prepared, we started with a hot drink, I went for one of the delicious lattes and my mum went for one of the hot chocolates. Because you book your slot for afternoon tea, it wasn't long after out hot drinks arrived that the afternoon tea came out and literally everyone in Nova Scotia couldn't help but look at it as it came out to the table.
You get three plates of food, the bottom two are savoury foods and the top plate has a range of sweet treats to wrap up your afternoon tea. For savoury items, you got a variation of wraps, crostini's and mini brioche rolls, what you get inside them differs depending on the day you go. We ended up having some tuna and veggie wraps, crostini's with tuna, hummus and red pepper, and a veggie version. The brioche rolls had brisket beef and chicken bacon inside. They were all delicious, I was surprised to see the chicken and bacon brioche and the brisket beef brioche cause they're not what you usually see in traditional afternoon teas so they have put their own Nova Scotia spin on it.
Of course to finish up the afternoon tea, we had plenty of sweet treats to enjoy. They had the traditional scones with clotted cream and jam but then they also switched it up by having white chocolate blondies, tiffin and rocky road. The scones were delicious but the sweet treat winner for me was the white chocolate blondies. There was more than enough treats to enjoy for the two of us and we ended up not being able to finish it all so my mum's husband got some treats taken home for him. The afternoon tea is £15 per person, or you can have a sparkling afternoon tea for £19 per person and they even have a bottomless sparkling afternoon tea for £35 per person.
Everyone at Nova Scotia is always so lovely whenever I go to visit, they all give such great recommendations for drinks and food to try. The new afternoon tea is such a great addition to their current menu and I can only imagine how amazing it will be as the weather starts warming up to be sat in the outside seating with your closest friends, having a laugh and catching up with delicious food in the sun.
