I think we all know how much of a coffee lover I am so when 200 Degrees got in touch to tell me about their new shop opening, I jumped at the chance to head along. Prior to this my closest location is the one in Liverpool at the Met Quarter so I'm so happy there's one in Chester for me to visit now.

200 Degrees
200 Degrees was created in Nottingham in 2012 and they've now grown to almost 20 coffee shop locations, over 5 barista school locations, and hundreds of wholesale and business customers throughout the UK. Everyone at 200 Degrees is so passionate about coffee, these guys really are the experts in coffee.

Chester Location Launch
The new 200 Degrees store can be found on Bridge Street in Chester at the street level with indoor and outdoor seating, perfect for getting an iced coffee or smoothie and enjoying some of the sun while we're got it. Inside you can either get yourself a nice coffee and some lunch, treat yourself to some 200 Degrees goodies to take home or even take their barista school and learn all the tricks to be able to make yourself coffee at home that's just as good as getting it made by the baristas in store.

Even on launch day, 200 Degrees Chester was absolutely heaving with people so it's definitely going to be a popular spot for coffee and lunches or people wanting a place to hold up and get some work done. When we were there, we went for a couple of iced coffees as well as some of their sandwiches and sweet treats. I can confirm that the cinnamon roll was absolutely delicious but it was huge so I couldn't have done with just the cinnamon roll and not a sandwich. As soon as you walk in there a little shopping section where you can buy almost everything you need to make the perfect coffee, including some of the 200 Degrees coffee. I came away with a bag of the house blend, Brazilian Love Affair with notes of chocolate, Caramel and Hazelnut.

While we were there we got the chance to try out the Barista School which included smelling different notes and seeing if we could guess them, trying to pick out coffee notes at different temperatures, and trying our hand at the perfect coffee. Considering how much of a coffee lover I am, I found it so interesting that depending on the temperature of the coffee, it can differ what notes you're able to taste in the coffee. They had 3 different coffees ready for us to try it out on and it actually worked, we tried them freshly brewed then let them cool for a few minutes and tried them again.

Their Bridge Street location is open 7 days a week from 8.30am-6.30pm (5pm on Sundays).
