I finally got the chance to head along to Almost Famous in Liverpool and it was just in time to try out their Unfairground burger that had recently launched. Once the lovely folks that got in touch inviting me in to try it, I had to bring along my best friend who is also a fellow foodie to try everything out and spoiler alert....everything we tried was amazing.
For those of you that don't know, Almost Famous is located on Parr Street and is open 7 days a week from 12pm-10pm. They're a short walk from the Liverpool Central station and local to all the bars on Seel Street making it perfect whether you want to head out for a meal either with family or friends or before you go shopping in town or even just to head there to try out the different cocktails because they have an amazing cocktail menu and as someone who can't drink for health reasons I loved that they mentioned anything on their cocktail menu was able to be made into mocktails which I was so impressed with as usually I get about 4 choices if I'm lucky.
I did risk having a migraine by trying out once of their cocktails cause they all looked too good. I ended up going for the Cherry Bomb and I may have 100% been swayed by the fireworks that came included with the drink. It legit came with a sparkler in the drink and did not in anyway taste like it had alcohol in it so I think it's going to be my go-to mocktail when I next go! My bestie Fliss got the Vanilla Mai Tai which was really fresh and fruity cocktail and was perfect for having alongside the food. I think I need to slowly start making my way through the mocktails and finding my favourite.
We also had to add in a couple of sides because they both look too good on the menu not to try them out. Their menu consists of a range of beef and chicken burgers, fries and tots as well as wings and sauces. Ngl if there's mac and cheese anywhere on the menu, you know that I'm trying them out. Almost Famous has mac and cheese balls which came with a delicious bacon may dip, now these came really gooey and cheesy and they stayed like this for a decent amount of time whilst we were eating the meal. We tried some of the chicken nuggets which again came with delicious sauces and we also tried the Bacon Bacon fries to share with our burgers which was a mix of standard skin-on fries and sweet potato fries with bacon bacon mayo and bacon crumbles, these were so delicious and the perfect addition with the burgers.
We had to head into Almost Famous Liverpool to try out the Unfairground burger but we of course had to try the This is Liverpool burger because it would be rude not to when we're in the Liverpool venue. The Unfairground burger is their signature double cheeseburger that is smothered in their cheese sauce with crispy shoestring onions, American mustard and topped with a classic American corndog. I'm all about cheesy burgers so I loved this burger and it was a great limited edition burger. Now the This is Liverpool burger is a Liverpool staple with their classic double cheeseburger topped with salt and pepper chicken AND chips as well as veggies and chip shop curry sauce. As you can see this burger was the size of our head and took some tackling! This meal was incredible and we were both stuffed by the end of it but we're definitely planning to head back and I can't wait to see what limited edition burger they come up with next.
