Now we know I'm all up for trying different things and something I'd never tried before was an ASMR massage so when one of my wonderful ex-work colleagues Sarah got in touch mentioning that she had trained up in ASMR massage and asked if I would help with promotional pictures but I whilst I'm there, I thought I would take some pictures to share with you all the experience cause it was so interesting and I'd never heard of it before this.

Mysa ASMR Massage
I was completely new to ASMR massage but Sarah is a certified massage therapist in ASMR inspired relaxation techniques as well as Swedish massage. She has a passion for creating calming and soothing environments and uses gentle touch with ASMR in order to help you unwind and release stress. Sarah's business Mysa ASMR massage is located in Natural Touch Wellness in Chester so it's perfect for any of my readers that are local or have friends or family in the area that they visit.
Sarah uses a combination of different tools and techniques to help you unwind. Now I've tried massages as a way to help with my chronic pain and I've found that the pressure ended up leaving me feeling a lot worse and in increased pain because of the pressure of their hands even with a light-medium pressure so I was surprised at how much that I actually enjoyed the ASMR head and neck massage. I was enjoying the massage that much that I was very almost very asleep on poor Sarah at several points and I definitely didn't want the appointment to end!
As you go into Sarah's treatment room, there is calming music playing and a really nice aromatherapy scent making it even more relaxing. Sarah will introduce herself and advise you what clothing you need to remove for your treatment. You then get plenty of time to get undressed and ready on the bed for your treatment. Because I've never tried a massage quite like this, I was very nervous about being in pain but Sarah had a gorgeous heated bed and she made sure that it was situated perfectly as well as checking in regularly to see if I needed to move or change anything to help with pain and stiffness which I thought was great.
As everything is light touch as you might have gathered with the ASMR, Sarah made sure to keep one hand on you at all times so that no movements are a shock or surprise for you which again was a nice touch cause there is nothing worse when you're already a jumpy person to get a jump when you're in a relaxed state. Sarah used her hands, brushes, feathers, hairbrushes, and these special metal nails which she uses on my head, neck, shoulders, back, arms to perform the massage. I was so surprised with how relaxed I was left at the end of the massage which in turn helped my pain and it's something I could definitely see myself having more often as a non-medicinal way to help my pain.
Have you ever tried a massage like this?
Speak to you next time!
