I haven't visited Stoke Liverpool in a little while but recently the lovely Christina who is the head chef at Stoke Liverpool invited me in for an evening with delicious food before heading over to the World Museum to view the new Bee: A Story of Survival exhibit before it was released to the general pubic so that I could share with you all.
You may remember that I went to Stoke Liverpool back on Mother's Day to try their Sunday roast menu which I absolutely loved so when Christina, the head chef got back in touch to invite me to an evening with them before heading over to check out the new bee exhibit at the World Museum, you know that I immediately said yes and text my best friend to see if she wanted to go cause she is the queen of being obsessed with bees at the moment.
When we arrived at Stoke, we were welcomed in with the drink of our choice and got to meet the team at Radisson Red before we all sat down to enjoy the food that Christina and her team had made. We had a range of delicious treats that included smoked haddock croquettes with curry emulsion, bao bun with duck breast & hoisin sauce, white wine mussels, picsgna steak with a chimichuri sauce, and blue corn tortilla panko king prawns with dill foam and spicy salsa. Then for dessert, we were surprised with rum baba with Chantilly and black forest fruits dusted in 24kt gold. Even though. I'm not a huge fish person, it surprised me how much I actually liked the dishes that they had created for us.
Once we were all finished trying the amazing dishes created for us at Stoke by Christina, it was then time to make the short walk over to the World Museum for the opening night of Bees: A Story of Survival. When we arrived, we were welcomed with drinks and they had such creative nibbles coming around that were all flower themed before we were introduced to the exhibit that was designed and produced by Wolfgang Buttress Studio.
This exhibit is designed to be an immersive experience that tells a story on bees over the last 120 million years, looking at how they're adapted to survive to show you how vital they are to our survival and how changes to the climate and environment risk their existence. When inside, you are treated to a soundscape that is connected to a live beehive which means it is constantly changing depending on the colony on the day you visit. The exhibit features interactive sections as well as sculpture, light and projection meaning it truly is an incredible exhibit to visit. At the end you get the option to visit the gift shop dedicated with items to the exhibit so you can take a little bit home with you afterwards.
Bees: A Story of Survival is running at the World Museum from 4th May 2024 till 5th May 2025 which is plenty of options to get yourself some tickets booked to go and visit the exhibit for yourself and you must let me know if you fancy going and what you think of it.
