If you're not local to Liverpool then you probably won't know that Flannels opened a new store in Liverpool city centre and the ground floor is filled with some of your favourite luxury makeup and skincare brands, including some amazing new ones. One of the brands that I was really interested in trying was Gucci Beauty because up until the Flannels opening I thought that Gucci just did fragrance and I was pleasantly surprised by the counter.
The ground floor of the Flannels Liverpool store is completely dedicated to beauty, including a beauty bar and a special beauty changing room where you can go and try products with a bit of privacy, whether that be you want to try a foundation but don't want your makeup taking off on the counter or you're feeling unconfident trying out bright colours, you can either have a 1 to 1 with the counter of your fancy in the changing rooms or test out makeup with your friends. I love that these beauty changing rooms also give you the option to take photos so I imagine it's going to be immensely popular for that alone.
Whilst I was checking out the new counter I was kindly offered the chance to try some of the Gucci makeup by the lovely women that work on the counter (they're all super nice!). Before applying the makeup they popped on a little bit of primer and the Brume De Beaute facial mist which I have completely fallen in love with and if I hadn't already had 5 facial mists to get through, I would have bought it on the spot. It can be used before, during and after makeup to give you hydrated, glowing skin.
I have really straight, fine, blonde lashes and I fell in love with how the L'Obscur mascara made my lashes look. I was kindly given a small sample size of this mascara to test out at home before buying the full-size and I was so impressed that it doesn't smudge or flake throughout the day and I didn't find it transferring onto my eyelids throughout the day. I like that the formula is super black but doesn't end up leaving a black tint to my blonde lashes. We all know that I am very much obsessed with lip products and I loved the chance to find new lip products. I've already got my eyes on the Rouge A Levres liquid lipsticks cause they have got some beautiful shades and I love that it gives a soft matte finish that doesn't completely dry your lips out and doesn't smudge everywhere when you're eating and drinking. They'll also be perfect for Autumn/Winter for those dark berry colours without getting it caught in your hair and smudged everywhere.
Something I noticed whilst I was having a Gucci makeover and absolutely fell in love with is that on their counter and in their advertising Gucci don't use the stereotypical model for their products. I saw models of every skin tone and every age modelling their makeup which I thought was wonderful cause I can only imagine how off putting it could be to go and pick up some beauty products as a treat but to put off trying something new because it's displayed on a really young model or a model with a completely different skin tone to yourself.
