I've been struggling with chronic pain for about 5 years now and whilst I started with one condition that causes chronic pain, I've now got another two conditions so my pain levels have been a lot harder to control currently and I've been looking for other non-medicinal ways to treat my pain other than just painkillers. During December I've been trying out some CBD goodies from Orange County CBD and I thought I would share with you all how I got on with them so if you're thinking of trying them out yourself (there's even a little discount code included below).
CBD Gummy Cherries Edibles
I really like using cherry gummies as an alternate way to take CBD, especially if you're not a huge fan of the herbal taste that some CBD can have. These CBD Gummy sweets come in several different variations, including cherries, peach rings (my next one to try), gummy bears, gummy bottles, gummy cubes, strawberries, and gummy worms so there is plenty for you to choose from. I got the gummy cherries edibles and was really impressed by them. They have a great scent, look like actual sweets and even taste like sweets, they don't have any nasty or herbal aftertaste which I love cause there is nothing worse than having a nasty aftertaste.
You can get the edibles in either a grab bag, small tub or large tub so depending on whether you want to try something new or stock up they've got you sorted. These cherry gummy CBD edibles is designed to remind you of the iconic fizzy, cherry sweets and take you back to evenings at the arcade and singing along to your favourite CD. I was really impressed with how good these gummies tasted, they taste really similar to other gummy cherries but it's not quite a firm jelly which is great cause it doesn't all get stuck in your teeth then! Each sweet has 20mg of CBD and you get 20 sweets per small tub. Because I'm in peak pain flare up and I've only just started using it, I've not noticed a huge difference in my pain so I really want to try the cherry CBD oil next and use it on a daily basis for a couple of months to see the difference it'll make in my pain and anxiety. Whilst I've had this tub of cherry CBD edibles, I've been using them as a bit of a top-up throughout the day.
CBD Muscle & Joint Balm
Because I've been really struggling with my migraines, I'm in a very vicious point where I'm limited with what pain relief I take and how often I can take it because with having between 16-20 migraine days a month, if I take something like pain relief or migraine medication every single time, I could end up getting rebound migraines because your body gets used to the high levels of medication in my system (for reference I only get 6 migraine tablets a month, like that is the maximum amount I'm allowed to take in a month) and they are caused by the over use of pain relief and migraine medications. If this happens you have to wean off ALL pain relief and migraine medications which as you can imagine will be rough.
Thankfully I've been turning to topical non-medicated products that help with pain so this CBD Muscle & Joint Balm has fit into my routine perfectly. On the Orange County CBD website, they have 3 different creams/balms depending on what you need it for, they have their standard muscle & joint balm, then a Deep Freeze and Active Heat version. Typically when you get these types of topical balms, they have a really strong scent to them however this Orange County CBD one has a really light scent that you can only smell if you put your hand right under your nose. As soon as you apply the CBD Muscle & Joint Balm, it starts cooling your skin and you can feel the little tingles and it almost helps to distract you from the pain.
I've been using this CBD Muscle & Joint Balm on the arthritis in my wrist as well as for my ongoing pain flare up in my back and I've found it particularly handy when I get restless knees (yes my body is weird and I get restless 'legs' in my knees and on either side). I've found it particularly handy as it helps to distract and take the edge off the pain within about 5-10 minutes and usually will last a couple of hours before I notice the pain worsening again. I do wish that they had this balm in a roller ball form cause I am single and not flexible enough to get it on all the areas of my back that I need. When you pump it out, it comes out as a gel texture and then starts to melt into your skin as soon as it makes contact and melts into your skin quickly and you're not left feeling really sticky.
I've really loved what I've tried so far from Orange County CBD and I've already got my eyes on trying one of their CBD oils. They have kindly give me a discount code to give to you all, you can use the code 'DL20' at checkout for 20% off your order.
