Does anyone else feel like this year is already flying by?! I feel like I only just wrote my January favourites but it's time to start what I've been loving during February. This month, some of my favourites have been a selection of skincare, haircare, and reading/stationery bits so let's get sharing what some of my favourite things are during the last month.
Alterna Caviar Multiplying Shampoo & Conditioner
I have pretty fine, thin hair so trying this Alterna Caviar Multiplying Shampoo & Conditioner was the perfect solution for giving my hair weightless volume whilst also cleansing and nourishing my hair at the same time. I really loved how shiny it made my hair look and my hair kept the volume and shine even on day two when it normally looks pretty flat and in need of some much needed volume which I usually have to rely on dry shampoo to get the volume on day two. I'm a big fan of the scent as it's got that luxury haircare scent but with a little bit of fruitiness, perfect as we're starting to edge towards Spring.
Filorga Age-Purify Cleanser
This month, I've been almost exclusively using the Filorga Age-Purify Cleanser morning and night as the second step in my cleansing routine and it's really helped with tackling the maskne and anxiety skin picking I've been experiencing over the last month. I love that Filorga know that people of all ages get breakouts not just those who are pretty young so this Age-Purify Cleanser is perfect for those with more mature skin because not only does it tackle breakouts but it also helps with signs of ageing. I really like the fresh, fruity scent this cleanser has and it also doesn't leave my dry skin feeling stripped and in desperate need of moisturiser immediately after washing my face.
Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant
The Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant is a cult classic in the skincare world and I fully see why. I've been a fan of the Daily Microfoliant for several years now and recently have been switching between it and the Daily Milkfoliant but during February I've been primarily using the Daily Microfoliant following cleansing my skin or if I'm really pushed for time, I mix it in with my cleanser and do a two in one to save a bit of time after my 5am alarms. I love that this is gentle enough to exfoliate without irritating my skin and it really helps with my dry skin during the colder weather. The Daily Microfoliant is one of Dermalogica's best selling products and once you try it, it's so easy to see why.
REN Skincare Ready Set Glow Daily AHA Tonic
I got a travel size of the REN Skincare Ready Set Glow Daily AHA Tonic in a goody bag and I finally ran out of my usual toner at the beginning of the month so I switched to this one and so far my skin has been loving it. It's designed to exfoliate, brightens, tightens and hydrate your skin whilst being gentle enough for daily use. I've really noticed an improvement in the dullness in my skin and also the pigmentation from old breakouts.
Sunday Riley U.F.O Oil
I'm fairly new to Sunday Riley products but I've heard rave reviews about this U.F.O oil so I was happy when after a month of testing it was starting to live up to the hype. I was actually gutted cause when I first got this facial oil, I knocked it off where I do my skincare and spilt a bunch on my carpet which wouldn't be the end of the world if it wasn't a deep green coloured facial oil. Since I've been adding it into my morning and night skincare routine I've noticed an improvement in the amount of breakouts I have but also helped with tackling blackheads and helped to brighten old breakout scars.
The Inkey List Polyglutamic Acid
I'm a huge fan of hyaluronic acid that I was really interested to try the Polyglutamic Acid with The Inkey List as it's even more of a powerful hydrator as it can hold 4x more moisture than hyaluronic acid. I've particularly loved using this serum in the evening when I've been out all day in the cold weather and face masks, I usually spritz a facial spray on then pop this serum over the top cause how is it going to lock in any moisture if your skin is dry?! This really helps to leave my skin feeling nourished by the morning.
Dermalogica Dynamic Skin Recovery
I've been cycling this Dynamic Skin Recovery moisturiser from Dermalogica on and off this month with the one below from The Ordinary. I really love that this is a moisturiser and SPF 50 all in one so on the days that I'm running late or being a bit lazy this can give me both in one whilst also being hydrating enough for my dry skin.
The Ordinary Natural Moisturising Factors + HA
I've been using the moisturiser from The Ordinary on and off all month, particularly on the days when I'm in work cause it's a super lightweight but still hydrating moisturiser without leaving my skin feeling greasy. It helps to give immediate hydration and long lasting hydration, wearing a face masks all day can leave my skin looking a bit shiny by the end of the day but thankfully with this Natural Moisturising Factors + HA from The Ordinary, I have a natural glow by the end of the day and still feel hydrated.
Reading
Something I've really wanted to get back into reading for a while, I seem to go through little trends of not reading at all then periods of not being able to put books down. This month I've really gotten back into reading, just getting into the habit of reading a minimum of one chapter a day but it often leads to more chapters being read. I have a pile of books literally up to my hips that I need to get through so whilst I've been loving reading this month, I've added it into my challenge I'm starting next month so that I can start working through even more cause I have a mixture of self help and non-fiction to work my way through.
The Inspired Stories Lifestyle Planner
I have been a huge fan of the diaries from The Inspired Stories for several years now and whilst I love it no matter what time of year it is, this month it's been particularly useful in keeping me on track with my goals and whilst my mental health hasn't been the best, it's helped me get things done without feeling really overwhelmed. I've had the lifestyle ring binders which is great cause you buy the ring binder then every year you just buy the planner inserts but they also offer undated versions to pretty much all of their planners so no matter how you plan, they have a diary to match you.
Janet Murray Social Media Planner
I have made the decision that I'm going to be more consistent with the content I put out there and tackle TikTok and because my mind is like a sieve I've really been loving using the Janet Murray Courageous Content Planner as it allows me to balance out my content and ensure that I have it all covered and create content that I love without it all piling up. This content planner not only gives me a daily and monthly planner section but it also provides awareness days so if want to plan themed content around it, I can get creative.
