This year is bringing so many great shops to Liverpool city centre and most recently Uniqlo launched in the middle of Liverpool One and I got the chance to head along to their pre-launch event and even the pre-launch was packed so I can only imagine how booming it has been since it launched.
Let me introduce you to Uniqlo! They are a clothing apparel company that was founded in 1949 in Yamaguchi, Japan and has blossomed into a global business with over 1000 stores. Uniqlo have been redefining clothing focusing on quality and textiles, all at a reasonable price. You can find their clothing in store and also on their website. I really like that their website it's very visual with all the clothing broken up into the right categories but you're also able to see pictures of what they mean for the different products.
The new Uniqlo store in Liverpool One is in the perfect spot in the city centre as it's right between John Lewis and McDonalds, and is sandwiched between James Street and Central station so it's easy to get to regardless of how you travel into Liverpool. The store is situated over 2 floors and is mainly spilt into feminine clothes on the right of the upper and lower floors and the masculine clothes are on the left side as well as children's clothes on the upper left floor.
Not only do they have a big range of products in so many different colours and prints, they also have several services to offer including a Derek's sandwiches and coffee. They also offer alterations which is perfect for someone short like me as well as a customisation station where you can add a bunch of different patches to any new or well-worn Uniqlo items meaning you can really personalise your clothes to you as well as giving life back to your clothes. They told us these services are same-day but can also be done in as quickly as 20 minutes depending on how busy the store is.
Now I didn't go in initially to buy anything as it was right before payday but I did end up coming away with a lovely summer dress and also a list as long as my arm of things I wanted to get to update my wardrobe. I was surprised with how reasonable the prices were as well as how good the sizing was. I'm currently a size 16-18 and was surprised that I was able to fit into an XL dress which is always a nice plus. I went for a white dress with blue flowers and was pleasantly surprised that the dress came with a slip skirt to wear underneath due to it being a lighter colour and from looking at the website, they seem to do that a lot with the paler colour which is great cause I always find it a nightmare finding slips that are the right style/length for the item.
