I recently got the chance to head along and celebrating the re-opening of the Upside Down House in Liverpool One, we got to check it out the night before it opened to the general public. I've heard a little bit about the Upside Down House and seen it in passing cause it's been in Liverpool One for a little while now but does move around depending on different events going on at the time.
For those of you that don't know, let me introduce you to the Upside Down House. The Upside Down House has been in the UK since they launched Bournemouth in November 2018 and since then, the company has grown and grown with houses in several parts of the UK as well as France, Germany & Australia. Every single location has it's own theme to make every house that you visit a unique, fun experience no matter what house you visit. Each of the houses are designed by local talented artists and they have even themed their houses depending on the time of year, meaning you might just be lucky to see the houses dressed up for halloween or Christmas! They also partner with a number of wonderful charities who help support the vulnerable, raise awareness about nature conservation, and helping younger generations fulfil their potential.
The Upside Down House has recently moved into the gap between John Lewis and the Hilton Hotel meaning it is super easy to add onto a day of shopping or if you want to visit and then go for some food. The Liverpool location is a classic LFC red colour (because it'd be rude not too!) which is perfect for Liverpool. Now between my fibro, migraines and meniere's, I don't exactly have the best balance but I was surprised at how much the Upside Down House knocked my balance even with a walking stick!
It's such a brain trip when you go into the Upside Down House which for me with bad balance was an extra hurdle but I made sure to bring my walking stick which definitely helped with my balance. The lower floor has four different photo opportunities for the garden, bathroom and hobby style photo backgrounds. You then go up the spiral staircase where it's more open and is your traditional in-house style photo opportunities. We had such a fun time and laughed the entire time we were in the Upside Down House. Once we were done, we headed across to Byron Burgers for a cocktail and to try out their burgers. We ended up going for the chicken burgers and the cheeseburgers, both of which were delicious and all the staff were wonderful and so friendly during our visit.
The tickets are currently priced at £6.95 for the Upside Down House then the spinning house is priced at £3.45 but if you want to try both, you can buy a combo ticket for £8.95 meaning you can enjoy both parts of the Upside Down House then once you're finished, you can head over to Byron Burgers and get money off your bill with proof of your order.
