So it's official I've left bedside nursing (a blog post on that is due to come on here very soon!) and with that I can actually have my nails painted and with that I've been introduced to any amazing brand called Manucurist. They've allowed me to do my nails at home, saving some money without compromising the health of my nails.
Manucurist
Manucurist is a great brand from France that are dedicated to offering clean, green and innovative products that support healthy hands as well as a happy planet. They focus on producing products that have clean ingredients, vegan, cruelty free, and they're made in France with suppliers that align with the same values that Manucurist have as well as the same social and environmental commitments. In the products, they strive to give the safest, cleanest formulas and they replace toxic or sensitising chemicals with plant-based options with their formulas being up to 99% plant-based. They even give you nail art options with certified biodegradable glitters. They have two main ranges for nail polishes, their Green Nail Polish which is your standard nail polish range and the Green Flash LED Nail Polish which is the range that I've tried out.
Green Flash LED Polish
The Manucurist Green Flash LED Polish that is the first LED nail polish that is formulated without any toxic ingredients, HEMA-free and up to 84% plant-based ingredients to give you up to 10 days of high shine colour with no chance of you developing an allergy or damaging your nails with repeated use. Whenever I try and paint my nails myself with normal nail polish, I always end up either smudging it or within a couple of hours it's chipped off but I like being able to change my polish colour more frequently than when I have gel polish. In the past whenever I've had gel polish, even if I follow the proper removal process I usually had at least one or two nails that is slightly damaged so this Green Flash LED Polish is the perfect combo.
Before I'd tried Manucurist Green Flash polish, I'd really struggled with growing my nails out. I'd found after a certain length, they'd become all weak and start splitting. I've actually found that in the past 4 weeks when I've been wearing it, it's helped me to consistently grow my nails from a certain point without the splitting and peeling. With the Green Flash Pro Kit, you get the LED light, the acetone-free dissolvent, base and top coat as well as a colour of your choosing from over 60 shades for £85.
I found it super easy to do, even with my thumb injury. I found it easiest to do my 4 fingers on each hand and then do my thumbs together but I will say that I'm still practicing my technique 4 weeks on (granted I've only had to try it 4 times) cause I can never do that clear line around my cuticle. I will say that even when I end up getting the polish on my skin even once I've cured it under the lamp, the polish easily peeled off my skin after a shower (and not even a hot shower) so it's not a nightmare to clean up and if it really bothers you, you can pick up a corrector pen. I have found that when I get chips (I'm very hard on my nails and hit keyboards/touchscreens with my nails rather than the pads of my fingers), it's so easy and quick to touch them up.
For removal, I use the Green Flash remover and nail clips, you simply put a little bit on a cut up cotton pad, place it over the nail then pop the clip over the top and put your timer on for a minute. Once you take the cotton pad back off, it literally peels back and you can just rub it off your nail without any damage to your nail at all which is amazing considering I usually always get some damage from removing gel polish no matter what I do for the application.
I've honestly fallen in love with Manucurist and it's going to becoming my go-to brand to do my nails, I've only got three colours from them so far but I'm definitely going to be be purchasing more and I've already got my eyes on their new Life Aquatic range. I honestly couldn't recommend the brand more if I tried, once I get my application down I'll be filming a video for you all.
