I remember Albert Schloss launching at the bottom of Bold Street and having a big launch party, I finally got round to heading there for dinner to try out their menu and of course I took my best friend for a little Christmas catch up and celebration before all the craziness of the festive season. Now I've been past and I absolutely loved how festive Albert Schloss Liverpool looked from the outside so I was so excited to head and finally try out their menu.
Did you know that Albert Schloss actually got their name from Prince Albert who was Queen Victoria's sweetheart who she named various things in his honour after his passing. Albert Schloss represents Prince Albert's Bavarian heritage as well as his connections to many famous European Schloss and his love for art, music and celebration. They now have locations in London, Birmingham, Manchester and of course Liverpool which is situated right at the bottom of Bold Street so it's perfect as it's right opposite the Liverpool Central train station and it's also easy to then head into the rest of the city centre whether you want to start there with dinner and drinks or finish a shopping day with some cocktails and live music.
At Albert Schloss Liverpool they have live music, performances and kabarets, 7 days a week that you don't need any tickets to enjoy. Simply grab your drink or a table for your food and you can enjoy the performances. Whilst we were there, we had a wonderful live singer who was singing some iconic music from when we were growing up which we absolutely loved whilst also playing guitar. It was so refreshing to have live music that didn't complete blast my ears off whilst you're trying to enjoy your food.
Whilst we were at Albert Schloss Liverpool, we had the wonderful Sophie who looked after us and I couldn't recommend her more. She seriously had her service down, between some great food and drink recommendations, she also had the timings down which from an ex-waitress is something that takes time to master. Sophie had it down with checking on us once we'd tried dishes or cocktails, taking things away, taking orders, checking when we were ready for the next course.
We were welcomed in and given the chance to look over the cocktail menu which was almost as hard as choosing what to eat for dinner whilst we were there. We were kindly offered starters, mains and desserts each and when I tell you that these dishes were big enough that we were struggling to even finish all three dishes. Quite handily, my best friend is vegan so they were able to try out some of the vegan-friendly dishes as well for you all. I started off with the the garlic bread swirl with cheese which as you can imagine is the best tear and share garlic bread and would make a great addition to be having a beer and laughing with your friends. My bestie decided to go for the hummus & pickle which I did take a little bit onto my plate with a knife and the hummus was so good.
Now I hear rave reviews of the schnitzels and I feel like they're a classic food to go for so I had to go for the Tyrolean Schnitzel which came with the chicken breast, 'nduja, mozzarella, and parmesan, served with a side of spaghetti pomodoro. This dish was bigger than my head and I literally couldn't finish it, the chicken was huge and took over half the plate but it was made in perfect schnitzel fashion and was cooked to perfection. For mains, my best friend decided to go for the Berliner Shawarma with oyster mushroom that was covered in a spicy molasses glaze, it also came with herb & chickpea salat, vegan dill garlic yoghurt, chilli dressing, all on top of a fluffy haus pitta which again was perfectly cooked but came on a plate the side of their head! One thing you can definitely say about Albert Schloss is that you definitely won't be leaving hungry either if you go in for a full meal or if you get a bunch of sides to share between your friends.
Whilst they have an incredible range of beers either on tap or in beers/cans from various countries, now I am not a beer girly so don't ask me anything further on this but you can find all the information about the individual beers they offer as well as where they're from and the percentages of the beers on their website as well as in their menus. As well as having an extensive beer menu, they also have plenty of cocktails for you to choose from including some festive ones. I did go for a strawberry spritz cause I wanted something fresh to sip on throughout the evening and my bestie went for the festive cocktail, the black cherry kaiser which was so good that they went back for seconds.
To finish off the night we had a espresso martini, classic apple strudel and I feel like you can't come to Albert Schloss Liverpool without having one of their hot chocolates which I did have the alcohol-free version because I was driving but they also them with a little tipple inside and oh my word if I'd have known how good the hot chocolate was going to be, I wouldn't have ordered the strudel cause it literally was like melted chocolate in a cup with whipped cream and marshmallows. By the end of the evening, I legit dropped my bestie off and got home and crashed out for the night, I was that full of delicious food, you literally could have rolled me out of there!
