Diary of a Spoonie | Where I've Been!

It's been a little while since I've spoken to you all because there's been some big changes in the form of my blog and my health. First up on the blog front, you may notice that I've got a whole new design for my blog and something that you might not know is that I made the jump to WordPress, all thanks to the support from Lyrical who did it all for me. On the health front things aren't improving much which I'll get more into but I've really missed blogging so much so I'm so glad that my new blog is live and I'm ready to get back on it!

Over the last couple of months, I feel like I've either lived at the Dr's or in my bed thanks to my whole host of medical problems. Despite us trying increasing levels of preventative medications my migraines just aren't letting up and with 13-16 a month with fatigue the day before and the day after, it's so difficult to do anything. It's so hard to just pull myself out up from my bed and work, thankfully my work have been very understanding with my current health struggles. I did take a big step with my health and finally applied for the PIP benefit because if anyone doesn't already know having a chronic illness can be expensive. I was very lucky to be awarded it which has made me realise how bad my chronic illnesses are and honestly my health has gotten any better since I was admitted to hospital last year.

Since I last spoke to you all, I finally started my high-intensity CBT and unfortunately I got given another diagnosis to add to the ever growing list of conditions that my body is currently playing health condition bingo with. But I also got my head MRI scan and I'm due to see the neurologist in the next couple of weeks which I'm so grateful to have private healthcare through my new employer as my GP warned me that there was a huge waiting list for neurologists in my area. My GP did get a letter back from the NHS neurologist in Liverpool but he was very annoyed when it was a very basic copy and paste letter full of things we already tried so I'm praying that we get some answers by going privately. I'm also patiently waiting a appointment to discuss biologic treatments with my respiratory team because I sound like a squeaky toy 24/7 and the slightest bit of slow talking causes me to cough and wheeze constantly so I'm praying that things start to improve from here on out.

How have you all been?

Speak to you all next time!
