I still remember going to Boots to get makeup when I was a teenager and picking out some Revlon bits to try and now they've actually sent me PR goodies, I am in complete shock! I must admit it's been since before the first covid lockdown that I last tried Revlon makeup, mainly because I've been trying to use up what I've got already in my makeup drawers. I did get very excited to see a little parcel of Revlon So Fierce goodies on my doorstep and was excited to be able to share my experience with them with you all.
We've all been wearing face masks for over a year now and with the introduction people are either choosing to wear no makeup at all or they're embracing the eyes and going for bold looks which is what Revlon's new So Fierce collection is all about bold eye looks and letting your eye makeup and mascara do all the talking!
So Fierce Big Bad Lash Mascara
They kindly sent along the standard formula and waterproof formula of the Big Bad Lash mascara for me to try which I love cause I usually try to go for the waterproof formulas for most mascaras that I buy as my lashes are very stubborn and don't like to curl so I tend to go for the waterproof formula with the hope that they'll keep my lashes curled for longer. The Big Bad Lash mascara is designed to give you bigger, bolder volume to your lashes that lasts all day and night. I really like that the formula is designed to give your lashes a lash tint gradually over time and you can also get multiple looks from one brush depending on how you use to the mascara wand, the curved side is designed to give you big, voluptuous lashes and the flat side gives you a more fanned out effect.
Now I don't wear mascara everyday cause I like to give my skin a break and have some skincare only days to let my skin breath, sometimes I'll find that on my skincare only days I'll pop a little bit of the Big Bad Lash mascara using the flat side to give my eyes a more fanned out, wide awake look cause without mascara my lashes are so fair. I have found that the Big Bad Lash mascara has given my lashes more of a tint so even if I've taken it off, I find that the next day I still have a slight tint to my lashes. For someone with stick, straight lashes I find that my lashes do drop slightly towards the end of the day so they don't look as perfect as they did when I put the mascara on but I do find that my lashes keep the curls all day/night till I take it off with my Dermalogica Pre Cleanse oil.
So Fierce Vinyl Eyeliner
I have really hooded eyes so I can kind of take or leave eyeliner cause sometimes I feel like I've gone through all the effort for it to be hidden and look like I've not done anything at all, it does however make it easier to do smokey eyes cause I can just smudge some eyeliner and call it a day. The Vinyl Eyeliners have a smooth, waterproof formula that is designed to give you the look of liquid eyeliner in the ease of a pencil eyeliner.
Revlon kindly sent me one of every shade of the Vinyl Eyeliners, there are 6 different shades for you to choose from. Now I have very sensitive eyes so I hate using eyeliners that are really stiff cause it just irritates my eyes and makes them start watering, however all of the Vinyl eyeliners are so buttery, they literally glide on so beautifully. I've really been liking wearing these smudged into my upper lash line but word of warning, these dry down so fast and become waterproof so quickly, so make sure if you want to smudge it out as soon as you apply it. My favourite shades from the Vinyl eyeliner collection have got to mighty mocha which is a gorgeous deep, chocolatey brown and righteous rum which is a gorgeous maroon red shade. I'm so excited to wear both of these shades in Autumn. Depending on the weather and my allergies, I can find that my eyes can water a lot which normally kills off any eye makeup I tend to wear, thankfully these Vinyl eyeliners are waterproof so they held up against some of the worst allergies I've had so extra points to Revlon!
