A couple of weeks ago I showed you all about the event I was invited to by The Body Shop in Liverpool One for the launch of their Edelweiss range and The Body Shop kindly got in touch afterwards and offered to send me the rest of the Edelweiss range to test out and review for you all so let's get into the review and how I got along with the products.
Edelweiss
The Edelweiss range has recently been launched instead of the popular Drops of Youth range. It is filled with double the concentration of Edelweiss to help to gently clear pollutants and help to protect your skin against pollution whilst helping to smooth and protect your skin whilst giving it 24hr hydration. All of the products in the Edelweiss range are also made with 99% natural-orgin ingredients. Any of you reading this that have tried the Drops of Youth range, the Edelweiss has that same amazing, fresh scent. The Edelweiss range is featuring that new redesign of the packaging that The Body Shop have started releasing starting with their Vitamin C range.
Cleansing Concentrate
The Edelweiss Cleansing Concentrate is designed to wash away any impurities and pollution to leave your skin feeling smoother, fresher and more luminous. It is filled with Edelweiss which is naturally strengthened by leontopodic acid which is known for its antioxidant properties. The Cleansing Concentrate is gentle enough to be used everyday, morning and night. It starts as a lightweight gel cleanser and as soon as you start massaging it into your skin, it transforms to a water like texture then has a very light, gentle foam to cleanse your skin so it's perfect if you have drier skin like me because it doesn't leave you with that stripped feeling. I find that you only need a small amount of the Cleansing Concentrate to cleanse your entire face, this cleanser has regularly become a part of my double cleanse routine since it arrived in the post.
Daily Serum Concentrate
Of course no skincare routine is complete without a serum so I had to test out the Daily Serum Concentrate. The Drops of Youth concentrate has been made even better with this range redesign, every bottle of the Edelweiss Daily Serum Concentrate is enriched with double the concentration of Edelweiss and did you know that Edelweiss extract has 43% more antioxidant power than retinol! It's filled with peptides derived from rice that help to maintain the skin's natural moisture barrier. I find a little of the Daily Serum Concentrate goes a long way because it's such a lightweight, non sticky formula, it literally melts into your skin without feeling like you've got to massage it in for ages before it's actually absorbed (literally one dot was more than enough for the entire back of my hand). I really like how hydrated and plump this serum leaves my skin feeling, especially as we're going into Winter, the really cold weather and everyone having their heating on, my skin generally feels like it's going to be zapped of all moisture so I love that this serum floods my skin with the much needed moisture. It is £30 for a 30ml jar of the Daily Serum Concentrate but you really only need 3-4 drops for your entire face so I can see this jar lasting ages so you do get your money's worth of product.
Eye Serum Concentrate
Even for a skincare addict like myself, I've never actually tried an eye serum quite like this Eye Serum Concentrate. While this might look like a very small container, you literally only need one dot per eye to massage into the entire under eye and your eye lids which I was really impressed by. This eye serum helps to reduce fine lines and wrinkles as well as helping your eyes look less tired and more revitalised. Similar to the Daily Serum Concentrate, this Eye Serum Concentrate is a really lightweight, non sticky formula that forms a protective layer over the skin around your eyes to help protect your eyes from indoor and outdoor pollution to prevent dehydration, dullness and premature skin ageing. The Eye Serum Concentrate was the first product I picked from the Edelweiss range and I've been using it morning and night and I've honestly noticed such a difference compared to the days that I don't use it. The fine lines under my eyes look a lot better and when I'm applying makeup over the top, the skin around my eyes stays hydrated throughout the day whereas I often find that towards the end of the day my base makeup around my eyes can start to look dry and settle into fine lines so this eye serum is already winning in my books.
Intense Smoothing Cream
With the Edelweiss range, The Body Shop have brought out a general day cream but they've also brought out the Intense Smoothing Cream which is perfect for people like me that suffer with dry skin, especially if it get particularly worse during the colder months this face cream is for you. The Intense Smoothing Cream is designed to give your skin a more intense hit of nourishment to leave your skin feeling smoother, fresher and plumper with up to 48hrs moisture. For my dry skin, the Intense Smoothing Cream leaves my skin feeling so intensely nourished and it actually leaves my skin looking plumper. I find this particularly useful to use on the days that I'm in work because I'm going to be in a paper face mask for up to 13hrs which if you didn't know those face masks leave your skin feeling even more zapped of moisture so I'm actually really tempted to purchase the jelly face mist from the Edelweiss range to spritz my skin with some added moisture throughout the day.
