Heading up Bold Street there is such a selection of wonderful places to visit and most recently an amazing American style diner called Slim's has made it's home at the top of Bold Street. A couple of weeks back, I headed to their launch event to check out the place and the incredible food for myself and I just had to share it with you all!

Inspired by New York diners, the new Slim's is just what Liverpool city centre needed. The all-day diner offers everything from incredible stacked burgers and mac and cheese to enviable roast dinners and a whole host of menu items for vegans and vegetarians. I for one am most excited to go back to try out the weekend brunch menu and the mac and cheese burger because they sound incredible!

In late August I headed down with Laura to check out the launch of Slim's and was really impressed with it. Albeit not huge in size, it fit a tremendous amount of people inside for the event with there actually being even more tables added to the venue after the event. The inside is decorated in a simple white tile with black grout design with the menu painted straight onto the wall and it even has a beautiful oriental style piece of artwork on one wall.

From the menu tasting on the night, one of my top favourites was definitely the cornflake chicken and I think Laura's was a tie between the chicken wings and Lo Pan fries. As we all know I eat like a small child and I found the cornflake chicken was so delicious, it was the perfect combination of crispiness with the juicy, perfectly cooked chicken. Now I did try out a small amount of the Lo Pan fries because I don't think I could handle too much spice but the ones I tried I actually loved, they had just the right amount of spice without being too much and were really tasty! I also loved the little Slim's containers they came in! On the night they had so many different food tasters from the menu flying around, we were completely spoilt for choice and it made us so excited to come back and try out more from the menu, there is definitely more than enough for me come back several times to try out the whole menu, right?!

I need to pop back in and try out the Sunday roast and weekend breakfast menu because after seeing those on their Instagram since the event, I can't not come and try it out! You can check out the menu here and see what takes your fancy.

Shall I try out the breakfast or roast menu first?

Speak to you next time!
