I'm finally back with a makeup post all about the Clinique Even Better Clinical Serum Foundation which I've been testing out during the Summer. I was invited in to my local Clinique counter in Boots to try it out and I loved how it felt and looked during the melting Summer weather that I decided to buy a bottle for myself to try out. I'm normally a full coverage foundation girl but I've really been swayed by Clinique's latest launch.
Clinique Even Better Clinical Serum Foundation
The Even Better Clinical Serum Foundation is Clinique's new foundation that launched at the perfect time at the beginning of Summer. Their newest foundation is a weightless foundation that is designed to be as light or as full satin-matte coverage as you want. The Even Better Clinical Serum Foundation is designed with three serum technologies (vitamin c, hyaluronic acid, and salicylic acid) which help to leave your skin looking plumper, more hydrated and more radiant even when you're not wearing makeup.
My Experiences
I've never really tried Clinique skincare or makeup other than a little sample of mascara that I was given in a goody bag at an event years ago so I was very pleasantly surprised by how much I liked this foundation and the chubby stick lip balm. I initially bought the Even Better Clinical Serum Foundation because I thought it would be brill to wear for my mums wedding, with it being in the middle of July it was so hot on the day that no-one could keep curls in their hair because it was so hot and humid. Luckily this foundation lasted all day for me, even though the heat, tears and lots of drink and dancing. It still looked as good when I took it off as it did when I applied it. I found that a little of this goes a long way especially if you're going for a more natural, barely there makeup look. I normally powder down my makeup purely cause I touch my face way too much but I have tried it without powder and I was really impressed, I worried about it moving around my face but it sat perfectly and it settled really nicely with my other base products so it just looked like my skin but better.
With the Even Better Clinical Serum Foundation launch, they actually expanded their foundations shades and included some shades that are pale enough even for me. Even though the Even Better Serum Foundation has 42 different shades, I found that 3/4 of the shades are different shades of pale-mid skin tones, there's only 1/4 for deeper skin tones and 3/4 of these shades look very much the same with ever so slight tonal differences. I really like that Clinique have started changing their packaging starting with the Even Better foundation, this bottle is the first bottle of theirs that is fully recyclable.
When I picked up the Even Better Clinical Serum Foundation, I did also pick up the Chubby Stick lip balm which I'm so impressed with. I went for the Watermelon shade and it's the perfect handbag lip product cause you can pop it on without a mirror when you're out and about, I found that it really helped with my dry lips and didn't smudge all over my face.
