This Winter my skin has well and truly been through it with the cold weather and the wind. It's become more dry and irritated than usual. I thought for today's blogmas, I'd share what my current Winter skincare routine is and why I've been loving them.
Dermalogica Micellar Prebiotic Precleanse & Prisma Protect
We all know how much of a Dermalogica fan I am so it wouldn't be a Winter skincare routine without a couple of Dermalogica goodies included. The Precleanse was one of the first products I tried from Dermalogica and this Winter I've been using the Micellar Prebiotic Precleanse version more. I use this version of the Precleanse as the first step in my double cleanse routine, it's a milky version of the original and helps to gently remove my makeup and skincare whilst also nourishing my skin. I have a couple of different SPF's from Dermalogica now but recently I've been loving the Prisma Protect because not only is it an SPF 30 but it is also a moisturiser and gives your skin a beautiful glow. Because I have pretty dry skin, I don't use the Prisma Protect on it's own, I'll layer it up with another moisturiser and it works perfectly for me and is an amazing base for makeup.
Murad AHA/BHA Exfoliating Cleanser, Revitalixir Recovery Serum & Hydro-Dynamic Ultimate Moisture
I recently got this hydration set from Murad and it honestly couldn't have come at a better time. I've tried one of the Murad cleansers before so I was excited to try out the AHA/BHA Exfoliating Cleanser, it's a creamy chemical and physical exfoliator that I've been using twice a week. I like that it's got the small jojoba beads and a very light scent, it really does leave my feeling softer and looking smoother. The Revitalixir Recovery Serum is designed for use on your face and eyes, reduce under eye puffiness, smooth fine lines, hydrates and revives vibrancy. It's such a cool looking serum because it's got bubbles of illuminating pearl suspended in the serum which is perfect to give you that subtle lit from within glow. I'm all about really nourishing, thick face moisturisers especially during the colder months and the Hydro-Dynamic Ultimate Moisture is perfect for this time of year as it helps to really nourish my skin without feeling heavy. As with all the Murad products I've used, it feels so luxurious to use every morning.
Kiehl's Retinol Skin-Renewing Daily Micro-Dose Serum
I've mentioned this Retinol Skin-Renewing Daily Micro-Dose serum from Kiehl's on here recently but it quickly fell into my Winter skincare routine because I'm over 30 now so I need to start taking care of my baby face before it starts looking older than it should and I love that this retinol from Kiehl's is gentle enough to be used even on my dry, sensitive skin. I've been using this for a while now and I haven't had any reaction or irritation which is something I'm always worried about with retinols.
L'Occitane Overnight Reset Eye Serum
I've been reaching more and more for the Overnight Reset eye serum from L'Occitane over the last couple of weeks. I really love how hydrating and nourishing the formula is and it's also fun to use because of the balls of Immortelle Oil extract that are suspended in the formula. I find it helps with fatigue and helps me look refreshed in the morning, even if I've had the roughest nights sleep ever. I tend to pair this with a roller to help de-puff my eyes.
Carmex Cherry Lip Balm
I feel like Carmex were one of the first lip balms I ever tried back when I was a teenager so even though I love lip oils, I still go back to them now as an adult. I find these hydrating from my dry lips whilst also smelling so yummy. I've had this Cherry lip balm in the tube and pot form and I tend to flit between the two, when I use to work clinically as a nurse I much preferred the tube form cause I didn't have to worry about sticking my fingers in the pot then touching my lips (constantly sick girl problems). This even has SPF15 in it which is perfect cause I'm always forgetting to put it on.
