This year, Newsham Screampark has come back to Liverpool ready for Halloween for the 2nd year in a row and I was excited to head along for the night. In typical me fashion I ended up getting sick literally the night before so was avoiding the misty mazes in case I ended up setting off my asthma literally almost a year to the date of my last hospital admission (how ironic it is, me saying that when I ended up having an asthma attack literally 3 days after this event).
This year is the second year that Newsham Screampark has been open and let me tell you the que to enter on the PR night was nuts and going in several directions. The screampark has 4 attractions to test your fear levels and this year they included the selfie section with four different themed areas where you can take all the spooky and creepy looking photos with your friends.
When you enter in, you're all the courtyard area with the various scare mazes around the outside of the courtyard and then the selfie area, a merch stand, food and drink stands as well as music including a screen so you can watch the fellow attendees get scared on their CCTV style cameras featuring certain points in certain rooms.
I feel like last year they had a ton of different food places including one dessert place whereas this year, they only had 2 or 3 options to eat whilst you were and the merch stand had moved between two of the food options instead of at the bar like the year before. This year we decided to get something to eat and sit down and work out which room we were going to do ourselves. I of course, had to go for the salt and pepper chicken nuggets which I won't lie, blew my mouth off by the end of the meal (I'm still learning to love spice). Everyone else that came along with me had the lamb burgers which also looked amazing.
This year, there are four scare mazes for you to try out. I like that they changed this up with rooms this year because it allowed anyone that had visited last year the chance to be scared all over again. If you are thinking of booking tickets and you don't like having your head and face covered or feel claustrophobic at times, it's worth noting that one of the rooms does require you to wear a hood that you can't take off your head so it's may be worth sitting the priesthood scaremaze out and having a drink whilst your friends get scared.
