It has been a little while since I featured some products from ARK Skincare but they recently got in touch and offered to re-up one of my favourites from them, the Skin Essentials skin protector SPF30 primer. I've tried this primer over the last couple of years and love that it's an SPF, moisturiser and primer all in one product so it's great for travelling but I've been loving it as finishing my day to day skincare no matter whether I'm wearing makeup or having skincare-only days.
ARK Skincare
If you haven't heard of ARK Skincare before, they are a skincare brand that look at how your skin changes with age and how your skincare should adapt accordingly. They have three Age Intelligent ranges that are salon-grade, highly effective skincare that are specifically developed to deal with the problems your skin may experience as it changes meaning you're not just pigeon holed into one skin type all your life. As well as their Age Intelligent ranges, they have complimentary ranges called Skin Perfectors and Skin Essential which have specific targeted treatments as well as skin essentials for all skin types and ages. ARK Skincare aim for you to use a 3 step process, first you choose which range you need from the Age Intelligent then step 2 is looking at skin concerns and you choose which Skin Perfector you need and step 3 is lifestyle where you add in the needed Skin Essentials to complete your skincare routine.
Skin Protector SPF30 Primer
The Skin Protector primer comes in 30ml and 75ml sizes, with the 30ml size priced at £38. As someone with chronic illnesses and fatigue, I'm all for multi-tasking products and this primer is a 3-in-1 product so it moisturises, protects and primes your skin. This primer hyaluronic acid, vitamin E, shea butter, jojoba, mimosa and sunflower which helps to hydrates and nourish your skin whilst protecting it and reinforcing the skin's barrier.
As I have more dry skin, I don't use this solely as a moisturiser but I love that it gives my skin the added boost of hydration to my skin everyday. I love that it melts into my skin and leaves it feeling silky soft ready for makeup. I've been using the Skin Protector as the final step in my skincare routine and on make-up free days, my skin is protected and feeling silky soft with a lovely glow to it then on my makeup wearing days it's primed and ready to hold my makeup in place and stop it moving around. Even though this has SPF 30, it doesn't leave your skin with a white cast on it which is perfect whether you're choosing to wear makeup or have a makeup-free day.
This skin protector comes in an easy to use pump and a little goes a long way so I only need two pumps to do my whole face and neck. I like that it has a really light scent thanks to the jojoba, mimosa and shea butter but it's not a scent that is really overwhelming when you apply it to you face. I've been a big fan of this primer since I tried it a couple of years ago because it left my skin feeling soft and smooth whilst not irritating my sensitive skin and it didn't make me breakout. The Skin Protector is the perfect addition to your skincare no matter your age or skin type.
