I've struggled for years with thin hair and I feel like my scalp and hair needs some serious help at the moment. Thankfully the lovely folks at Reset have kindly sent along a couple of their hair and scalp oils to try out and see if it helps me with how my hair is currently looking and feeling right now, so let's get into my first thoughts.
About Reset
Reset has been created by the wonderful Shikha who is a clinical pharmacist (yay for a fellow healthcare professional!) and has seen so many people suffering with hair loss, particularly following covid and she has seen how anxious and self conscious these issues have made people especially with current treatments only giving them short term results so she decided to tackle it herself with a mission to create modern solutions for scalp related conditions that people actually love using and also helping them to create a routine to consistently look after their scalp and hair. The Reset serums focus on containing 7 active ingredients that help to look after and nourish your hair whilst being backed by science and containing over 90% of plant oils and extracts.
Invigorating Hair & Scalp Oil
This Invigorating Hair & Scalp Oil which is designed to combine wisdom of ancient traditions with incredible science and is supposed to start working from the first use. This Hair & Scalp Oil is designed to rejuvenates your scalp, boost circulation to your scalp and hair as well as delivering nutrients to your hair to give you healthier, stronger, and more resilient hair growth with continued use. Whether you're looking to tackle thinning hair or hair loss or just want to boost the health of your hair, this product is great for you. Fitting in with their brand ethos, this hair & scalp oil has 7 key features to look after your scalp and hair.
- Improves your hairs overall hair and scalp health.
- Deeply nourishes and repairs hair for softer, shinier hair.
- Strengthens hair from root to tip.
- Stimulates the follicles to boost hair growth and reduce hair loss.
- Tames any frizz.
- Soothes and reduces any scalp irritation.
This Invigorating Hair & Scalp Oil has such a beautiful warm, relaxing, citrus fragrance that is designed to help relieve stress and promote relaxation. This oil has quickly become a much needed part of my evening routine twice a week and honestly it's the days that my stress and anxiety always seem the best and I genuinely put it down to the scent of this oil. You simply part your hair, I usually part 4 sections at the front of my hair and 3 sections at the back of my head then they suggest you to apply your desired amount of oil which is great if like me you have fine hair, I generally find that I don't need as much oil so I'll usually use about 4 drops per section at my scalp then massaging it in and sometimes I will apply a bit more if my scalp feels or looks more dry. Once my scalp is oiled, I'll then put half a dropper into my hands and put it through the middle to ends then you can either clip or tie it up and shampoo it out 30 minutes later. However I've really been liking popping the oil in then tying my hair in a protective hairstyle and leaving it in overnight which I've found has actually left my hair looking shiny and feeling so soft.
Stimulating Scalp Serum
I've struggled with loosing good chunks of hair particularly after washing it so they suggested I try the Stimulating Scalp Serum to help tackle it. This scalp serum is designed with their signature 7 key features to help boost healthy hair growth. It's filled with pea sprout extract, red clover extract, prebiotics, panax ginseng and ashwagandha. This serum has a different scent to the other Reset serum, I find it a really nice, more subtle scent so I don't even notice it once it's massaged into my hair. I've been using this once a week after shampooing my hair, I simply towel dry my hair then part it and apply the Stimulating Scalp Serum before massaging it in. But you can also use this can also be used on dry hair and it's not like an oil texture so it doesn't leave your hair feeling or looking greasy as I found it literally absorbed into my scalp within 30 seconds and to me had more of a water type texture rather than an oil texture which is perfect cause I worry about my hair looking greasy or oily with hair care products.
I've taken some before pictures so I'm excited to see how my hair improves with these serums with some continued use so I'm definitely going to be doing an update blog post so you guys can see the difference and any improvement in how thin and fine my hair is as well as how the malting hair like crazy when I wash it improves with use.
Does you use hair oils?
Speak to you next time!
