This year I've finally hit my 30's and whilst I have some fine lines, I need to ensure that my skincare is focusing on hydration and tackling any fine lines and wrinkles so you know that retinol is one of the top things in my skincare at the moment. With having sensitive skin, I sometimes struggle with retinols so I was so excited when this package arrived from Kiehl's arrived with their new Retinol Skin-Renewing Daily Micro-Dose Serum and Super Multi-Corrective Soft Cream to test it out and let you guys know what I thought of them.
Retinol Skin-Renewing Daily Micro-Dose Serum
The Retinol Skin-Renewing Daily Micro-Dose Serum is Kiehl's anti-wrinkle serum with retinol that is designed to give you youthful results but in a micro-dose that is gentle enough to be used on a daily basis. It helps to reduce the look of wrinkles, reduce skin texture, and give you firmer looking skin, all whilst having minimal chances of typical discomfort from using retinol such as redness, dryness and peeling. It has a trio of pure retinol, peptides and ceramides which help to promote skin cell turnover whilst also strengthening your skin's barrier. I really like that Kiehl's have ensured that this retinol serum is gentle enough to be used by first time retinol users and those with sensitive skin.
I really like that this retinol serum is designed to be used morning and evening (please ensure you wear your SPF in the morning if using it then). It's a thicker serum and when rubbed it, it leaves my skin feeling plump from the first application. So far I've had no irritation, dryness or discomfort with using this retinol which honestly has me speechless because usually I find I get a very small bit of discomfort and irritation when I first start trying a retinol for the first couple of weeks of use. I'm excited to see what the difference in my skin will be with continued use.
Super Multi-Corrective Soft Cream
I haven't tried Kiehl's moisturisers so I was really interested to see how their Super Multi-Corrective Soft Cream would perform for my dry, sensitive skin. This moisturiser is designed to be a 7 in 1 corrector but in a lightweight, oil free formula. It has a double collagen formula which helps to visibly lift, firm, smooth, even tone, improve elasticity, boost your skin's radiance and reduce the appearance of wrinkles. Similar to the retinol it is designed to be suitable to be used morning and night.
I really like how lightweight this soft cream moisturiser is but equally I found it really hydrating for my dry skin. I love using this of a morning before makeup as it makes a really lovely base for my makeup. I found that from the first application, my skin looks visibly plumper and more radiant. I've used this at night as well and I find that the next day my skin still feels plump and hydrated without feeling greasy. I'm excited to see how it helps with giving me plumper, more hydrated and radiant skin with the continued use.
I'm quickly becoming a fan of Kiehl's skincare, I've only tried one or two products from them in the past and currently I'm really liking what I've tried. I also really like the packaging of the Kiehl's skincare products, it's very understated and classic, it also looks really pretty out wherever you do your makeup. I'm definitely going to have to check out more of the Kiehl's products!
