I've been a big fan of the Cohorted boxes since I tried the Espa one last year and when they got in touch saying they had a collaboration with Kate Somerville, I literally jumped at the chance to review it. I've been seeing more and more Kate Somerville products on my Instagram and TikTok so I was over the moon to see that they had collaborated with Cohorted and I got the chance to try out some of their products first hand.
Kate Somerville
Kate Somerville has been all about defying expectations and whilst enrolled in esthetician school that's where she got the idea to use active ingredients to help patients heal faster following cosmetic surgery and celebrities quickly fell in love with her post-procedure care. In 2004, she opened her first Skin Health Experts Clinic in Hollywood and the next year she was asked by one of her celebrity clients to bottle one of her super facial so she could take it whilst filming and such the holy grail product ExfoliKate: Intensive was born. From there Kate Somerville has just grown and grown in popularity and is loved by people all over the world.
Cohorted X Kate Somerville
The exclusive Cohorted X Kate Somerville box is £50 and is worth £120 with the products included. It contains two full size Kate Somerville products as well as two travel sizes of some of their iconic products and two samples of the Ellie Saab Elixir perfume. Cohorted are celebrating women all around with their #FEMALEFOUNDERS box and Kate Somerville is one of those iconic leaders.
First full size is the Goat Milk Moisturizing Cleanser which is a creamy, nourishing cleanser that is filled with ingredients goat milk, natural milk polypeptides, Manuka honey which helps to gently remove any impurities, oil and makeup without stripping your skin of essential moisture. I really like the subtle goat milk and Manuka honey scent that this cleanser has, it's not too overwhelming which is particularly handy if you're sensitive to fragrance in your skincare. If my skin becomes irritated by a skincare product, it tends to be across my cheeks that gets red and tight. Thankfully this cleanser is really soothing when I use it morning and night because it's a cream cleanser it doesn't leave my skin feeling stripped and tight.
Next full size is the Goat Milk Moisturizing Cream which comes in an airless pump jar so it's really helping to keep your skincare as sanitary as possible. Because I've got pretty dry skin, I found that one pump does about half my face. I do find it a super lightweight moisturiser and it does soak into your skin really quickly. I find that the moisturiser has less of a scent than the cleanser, it just has that typical moisturiser scent. I don't know if it's me and airless pump containers just not working together but I do have to be very careful when using it cause I don't even want to admit the amount of times I've tried to pump this moisturiser out and end up with stray moisturiser shooting around the place.
I do also really like that you also get two travel sizes of the iconic Kate Somerville products which is especially handy with my sensitive skin because I wouldn't want to commit to the full size and then have a reaction and be stuck with an expensive product. The ExfoliKate Intensive Treatment is designed to brighten skin, soften fine lines and is designed to give people results after one treatment so I love that by the end of the sample, you can really make a decision about whether you want to go for the full size. I tend to dry patches on the back of my arms, elbows and legs so the travel size of the ExfoliKate Body Polish is perfect for me to test it out to tackle my dry skin. It's really interesting because it's a green colour when you first take it out of the tube but it becomes really creamy once you start rubbing it into your skin.
Overall I'm really impressed with the Cohorted X Kate Somerville box, I've been dying to try some of the Kate Somerville products and the Goat Milk range is the perfect introduction for me. I think I'm gonna have to go try the HydraKate range next. Considering the cleanser is £38 and the moisturiser is £65 for full sizes on the Kate Somerville website but the Cohorted box is only £50, it's such a great bargain.
