Review | SoBeautyStuff Makeup Brushes

Danielle Levy, SoBeautyStuff, vegan makeup brushes, cruelty free makeup brushes, beauty blogger, Wirral blogger, Liverpool blogger,

I have a shameful amount of makeup brushes because I am a full blown makeup addict, but one thing I've really been making a push with in 2021 is going towards more cruelty-free brands and even adding some vegan beauty into my collection. Over the past couple of weeks I've been testing out some new vegan and cruelty-free makeup brushes from SoBeautyStuff and I just had to share them with you all cause they are just amazing.

I love that not only are SoBeautyStuff a vegan, cruelty-free brand but they also support Lift International, so with every purchase you make they support Life International in fighting to protect victims of human trafficking and exploitation. SoBeautyStuff currently offer 4 different brush sets, the So Complete collection, the So Base collection, the So Eyes collection and the So Face collectionAll of the brush sets come with a card listing all the brushes in your set and also what they're good for. I love that all the brushes are handmade and hand painted, they come with a light purple blending into a maroon colour handle with black barrels which have the So logo printed on the barrel in white and the brand name and the brush name in gold on the handle.

Face Brushes
The face brushes in the So Complete collection are a combination of white bristled brushes and duo fibre brushes. I really love using duo fibre brushes for my liquid face products so the 1.1 domed foundation and 1.2 small domed blend brush are perfect for me. The 1.1 domed foundation brush is perfect for applying primer (if you prefer to use a brush over your fingers) or as I use it to apply my foundation, it's a densely packed brush so I find it perfect for buffing in my foundation for a flawless finish. The So Complete collection also comes with a the 1.3 concealer buffer brush which is just a miniature version of the foundation buffing brush and it is perfect for buffing in not only my concealer but also buffing in my eye primer (or concealer if you use that as an eye primer instead).

The So Complete collection contains five white bristled brushed that again are super soft (they're honestly the softest brushes I've ever tried!). You get three powder brushes in small, medium and large. I absolutely love using the 2.3 small powder brush to set my under-eye concealer, I have really sensitive eyes so I used to use a sponge cause I found other brushes would irritate my waterline and cause my eyes to water like crazy but thankfully the 2.3 brush is so soft enough that I can pack on powder under my eyes without any tears or irritation. I also use both the 2.4 fan and 1.4 precise powder to pop highlight my cheeks, nose and under eyebrow.

Eye Brushes
The So Complete collection contains 9 eyeshadow/eyebrow brushes and it is literally the perfect eye brush set. I don't know if anyone else does this but when I'm looking at makeup brushes, I always find that most of the sets are missing between 1-3 brushes that I personally would like in the set, especially ones that are targeted to beginners. I honestly think the So Eyes eye collection has the every brush I could need to create anywhere from a basic eye look to as creative as I can get with my makeup. In the eye collection, you get two eyeliner brushes and a brow brush with a spoolie, as well as 6 eyeshadow brushes.

Something I've really needed for a while is a good smudger brush to add eyeshadow under my eyes as well as smudging my eyeliner for a more smokey look. Thankfully the So Complete collection has two brushes that I love to use for this, the 3.8 smudger and the 3.6 pointed detailer. You get one flat shader brush which I honestly wish you could order this brush individually from the SoBeautyStuff website because I want about 4 as it applies my base shadows and shimmers beautifully without a ton just falling onto my cheek. The 3.2 shadow blender does work perfectly for popping an all over colour on my lid after my primer. I have pretty small, hooded eyes and I still find the 3.1 and 3.3 blenders work perfectly for me, I mainly use 3.3 domed blender to blend into my crease and outer corner. I then use the 3.1 crease diffuser to blend out any harsh lines in my crease or outer corner. I don't think it's technically meant for this but I love using the 2.4 fan brush to swipe away any fall out on my cheeks/under-eyes. I love it because it's not lightly packed, it swipes it away lightly without it sticking to my base products.

After trying these over the past couple of weeks, I'm honestly so impressed with the SoBeautyStuff brushes. Not only are they the softest brushes I've ever tried, but they also blend even my most difficult eyeshadows to give me my most beautiful, flawless looking makeup. I've washed the full set twice since I received them and they washed with very minimal shedding. I really love how SoBeautyStuff package their brushes so whether you're treating yourself or  buying someone else a gift, it's so special to open. I honestly couldn't recommend them more and a little sneak peak but these will be in my Christmas gifting content because I just love everything from the ethos behind the brand to the high quality brushes.
