The Products That Have Been Saving My Skin During COVID

After two and a half years of avoiding it, I finally caught covid and what's worst I caught it from my mum. Thankfully I've had 3 injections before getting catching it so my symptoms weren't as bad as they may have been but I still had a pretty rough week and believe me my skin was showing the brunt of it. So I thought I would share with you all some of the products that have been helping during and after covid.

I really got hit by a bus the first few days with covid and barely moved out of my bed so you know that my usual skincare routine went completely out of the window and it was all about products that were quick, multi-functional and didn't take a whole lot of effort to apply.

Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Lip Protectant Stick
I think I got this Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour lip protectant stick in a goodie bag for an online event at some point late last year and it's sat in my lip products drawer until this week when I remembered that it was in there and I remembered how much I loved using the actual Eight Hour cream on my lips so I dug it out and kept it on my bedside table because I don't know about you but I had the worst dry, sore lips for the entire week. I've actually loved the lip protectant stick because I hated the gloopy mess left on my fingers when I used the original Eight Hour cream, plus it has SPF 15 too which is just perfect now that it's sunny outside.

Dermalogica Hyaluronic Ceramide Mist
I was kindly sent this Hyaluronic Ceramide mist when it first launched and it's been on my skincare testing rotation for a little bit now but for the past week it's been with the rest of these products right by my mirror for easy application. I have quite dry skin so I know the instructions say to use it after cleansing like a toner but I've actually just been spritzing it on throughout the day. This Hyaluronic Ceramide mist is going to be perfect as the weather heats up to pop in the fridge and then spritz it on when I'm melting. I wish they did this mist in a miniature to keep in my bag for on the go.

Dermalogica Circular Hydration Serum
This as well is another new launch recently from Dermalogica and I can honestly see all the hype behind it, as someone with pretty dry skin, my skin has absolutely loved this stuff particularly at the moment. The Circular Hydration serum is a long-lasting serum that helps to kick start your skin's hydration cycle, it's filled with hyaluronic acid, polyglutamic acid and an algae extract infused matrix. The serum is a really nice thick, milky serum with a really fresh scent. I've been really loving spraying the Hyaluronic Ceramide mist then popping this Circular Hydration serum on top whilst my skin is still wet and then waiting for it to fully sink in before applying the rest of my skincare and it's been game changing with this serum. Keep your eyes peeled for full review coming on these very soon.

The Inkey List Omega Water Cream
This Omega Water cream came into my life at just the perfect time, not only has been amazing and lightweight while I've had temperatures of 39 cause I felt like I didn't have a heavy layer of skincare on my face and particularly during covid, I've been keeping it in the fridge so it was really cooling and calming when I had a high temperature. The Omega Water cream is as it says a water-based moisturiser that helps hydrate your skin without making it oily. Prior to covid I was loving using this moisturiser in my skincare routine for work because even for my dry skin, it literally melted into my skin and I felt like my skin was able to breathe especially with wearing a face mask all day.

Yeouth Radiance Eye Gel
I was kindly sent this Radiance eye gel and I've been putting it to the test over the last month because I feel like eye products you need to test them for longer. This 30ml bottle of eye gel is honestly going to last me for months cause a pump of product is more than enough for both eyes with plenty to spare, if anything that would be the only thing that I would change is the pump to an option that gives you a smaller amount with each pump as if you're a bit heavy handed you could end up wasting quite a bit of product. I've loved popping this Radiance eye gel on then using my little roller tool to massage it in around my eyes which has been really helpful while I've been sick cause I found myself getting really bad sinus headaches I've been using this eye gel with my little roller to massage around my eyes to help with the pain from these headaches so whilst I've had covid I've been applying it more than just twice a day and I've still got loads of this eye gel left.

Lil Spa Regenerating Hemp Seed Face Oil
I have been using this Hemp Seed facial oil from LilSpa before Christmas and I'm still only half way through the jar. On the days when I truly felt like death and I felt like I couldn't move out of my bed, I ended up just popping a little bit of this oil on to stop my skin from completely drying out and it's kept my skin looking great even if I can't do a simplified version of my skincare routine. This facial oil is filled with hemp, flaxseed oil, grapeseed oil, and helichrysum oil which help to nourish my skin, help with healthy new skin cell production and also doesn't clog your pores.

Sheet Masks
While I've been not well, sheet masks have been a great way to get some skincare without a whole lot of effort. My favourite sheet masks at the moment are from Nivea and The Body Shop cause not only do you get an amazing face mask but also extra serum that you can pop on afterwards (the staff at the body shop said to pop the sheet mask back in the packaging and there's enough serum for you to use it again). From Nivea I've really been loving the Cellular Expert Lift sheet mask cause it plumps up my skin with hyaluronic acid and my skin looks glowy and a lot better hydrated. Since they came out I've been a big fan of the sheet masks from The Body Shop and recently they brought out a specific sheet mask for your eyes, the Cooling Cucumber masks are amazing and even more cooling if you keep them in the fridge prior to popping them on.
