Balmonds Skin Salvation Review

Danielle Levy, Balmonds Skin Salvation, beauty blogger, lifestyle blogger, Wirral blogger, Liverpool blogger,

As the cold Winter weather has come in thick and fast, my skin has really been going through it especially on my hands and lips and all of my usual tricks really weren't cutting it this year so when the lovely folks at Balmonds offered to send me their hero product, the Skinsalvation to test out on my poor skin, I was so excited to put it to the test on my nurse hands as I've heard amazing things about it.

Balmonds was created by the wonderful Natalie Balmond who was fed up of trying out lotion after lotion to try and soothe her daughter's painful skin that she decided to create her own that didn't contain anything unnecessary or irritating that may give her daughter a flair up. This mission lead to her creating products that are 100% natural, as mild as possible, intensively hydrating, safe, effective, nourishing, and protective. Since working in her kitchen to create their hero product, the Skinsalvation, Natalie has expanded the range to cover everything you may need from skincare products and lip balms to shampoo and even hand sanitiser. Balmonds have created a range of products that are safe for people prone to allergies, with eczema, those with sensitive or dry skin, or anyone who simply wants to avoid irritants, toxins or pollutants in their products.

The award-winning Skinsalvation is Balmonds first product, an all natural emollient that is designed to be safe to use on even the most sensitive of skin, on both your face and your body. It is also safe enough to be used by all ages from 6 weeks old. It is formulated to nourish, protect and hydrate your skin with organic hemp, olive and safflower oils with a blend of biodynamic herbal tinctures chosen to nourish extremely dry skin. The beeswax in the formula helps to form a semi-occlusive barrier to lock in moisture whilst protecting your skin from external irritants.

The Skinsalvation is a jack of all trades product for me, it can literally be used for any skin problem you could have. Now I can't speak to how good it is against bed sores, dribble rash or tattoo aftercare, but I have tried to try this on as many skin complaints I've had over the past couple of weeks. One way I didn't know you could use it until I wrote this blog post but now I really want to try it is removing makeup, I love using cleansing balms specifically because of my dry skin so I'm excited to put this to the test and see how well it takes off my makeup and stands up to my mascara without irritating my sensitive eyes. I try and be rigorous with using hand cream cause my hands get so dry and fragile from washing it so much but I always find that no matter how much hand cream I used, my cuticles look like they're falling apart so for the past couple of weeks I've been getting into the habit of applying the Skinsalvation to my cuticles before I go to bed and it absorbs into my skin within a minute and there is none of that greasy feeling. My cuticles look so much better since I started using it, there's no peeling or roughness around my nail which really impressed me cause I've tried all sorts of products and none of them have actually helped my cuticles without me having to use them really consistently, I love that with Skinsalvation I only have to apply it morning and night.

For me, it's truly not Winter without me getting a cold (I've already had 2 colds this Winter) and with a cold it always comes with dry, cracked skin around my nose that is so incredibly sore and my nose felt so much better during my second cold because I got into the habit of applying the Skinsalvation morning and night to my nose after washing my face before I applied the rest of my skincare routine and I am over the moon with how much better my skin was, there was no more painful, cracked skin. I first started applying the Skinsalvation when my skin started cracking and only applying it morning and night, I found that it disappeared within 2-3 days and once it had healed, I carried on applying it twice a day till my cold had completely gone and it stopped the skin from cracking further, no matter how many times I blew my nose.

Now I am a size 16 with thick thighs, if I'm not wearing pants or tights my thighs will rub together and I will get chub rub and if you haven't experienced chub rub before, count yourself lucky! Tbh it was the one thing that put me off wearing dresses and skirts because whilst I love my thighs, I hate the pain of them rubbing together but if I do wear a skirt or dress, I usually just have to put up with the pain then apply a good layer of Sudocrem on before I go to bed and the pain is gone by the morning but the horrid marks are still there. This Winter I tried it out both as a preventative measure and a healing measure, I popped it on the Skinsalvation on the main areas I get the chub rub and I walked round all day with NO irritant, redness or pain!! Colour yah girl impressed! I also used it after I've already gotten chub rub (yes I went through all the pain to test this out for you all so please send me some love!) and by the next morning there was no pain, no redness or irritant.

Is your skin going through it this Winter?

Speak to you next time!
