Multi-tasking Skincare | ARK Summer Skincare Event

Danielle Levy, ARK Skincare, skincare blogger, Wirral blogger, Liverpool blogger,

I am not that girl that has that perfect skincare routine down to a tee, sometimes (especially if I have a week of annual leave) I can be amazing at doing my skincare routine morning and night, other times if my skin is lucky I just about take my makeup off before I fall asleep. Since I've been shielding my skincare routine has suffered badly and my skin was showing the result of it, luckily I was invited to a zoom blogging event with the lovely Tamsin Styles, the CEO of ARK Skincare and I was able to talk to her about my skin concerns and get the motivation back to take care of my skin again.

ARK Skincare
ARK Skincare is an award-winning British skincare brand that focuses on treating your skin by age and skin concerns using bio-active natural ingredients, combining antioxidants, lipids and vitamins to look after your skin and create yourself a bespoke skincare routine that can be as simple or extensive as you wish.

Your skin and skin concerns change as you get older as well as exposure to environmental stresses so ARK Skincare focuses on three Age Intelligent ranges, Age Protect for teens and 20's, Age Defend for 30's and 40's, and Age Defy for 50's and over so they can help you take the best care for your skin during the different stages in your life. They want to make skincare as easy as possible so all of the Age Intelligent ranges are colour coded so you don't even have to remember what the range you use is called, you simply need to look for the colour. To support their Age Intelligent range, they have both the Skin Perfectors and Skin Essentials ranges which include products which help target specific skin concerns you may have at any age as well as some essentials products you can pick and choose whether you would like to add them to your skincare routine so you really can make a bespoke skincare routine that is as simple or extensive as you would like.

Summer Skincare Event
The Summer skincare event was to talk about the brilliant Skin Essentials Skin Protector Primer, talk about skincare and how ARK Skincare started, and have a bit of a Q&A with Tamsin. I loved being able to talk to Tamsin and learn some more about the products from the expert and learn some of the best ways to use them.

The Skin Protector Primer is one of ARK's award winning, multi-tasking products that works as a makeup primer, SPF and moisturiser all in one. It is a chemical SPF 30 which offers UVA and UVB protection and please make sure you're using an SPF every single day regardless of the weather and whether or not you're leaving the house. If you don't already use SPF everyday, you can read more about why it's so important in one of my most recent blog posts. The Skin Protector Primer is moisturising enough that for those of you with normal skin you can get away with just using this in place of your usual moisturiser but if you have drier skin like me it can still be layered on top of your favourite moisturiser to give you an added moisture hit that doesn't feel heavy or clog your pores whilst protecting your skin from the sun and locking your makeup in place all day.

I've been trying out the Skin Protector Primer for the past couple of weeks since the zoom event and whilst I've only used it a handful of times as a makeup primer, I've mostly been using it as the final step in my skincare routine. It is a chemical SPF so it takes a couple of seconds to rub it in but I found it rubbed in a lot quicker than other SPF's I've tried and doesn't leave behind a white cast so it's perfect for any skin tone. It's a really lightweight product so it's not going to irritate those of you with sensitive skin or clog your pores. As I've been suffering with spotty skin at the minute, I've just been trying to be really diligent with doing my skincare routine morning and night and leaving my skin makeup-free during the day for the majority of the time and I've found that the primer part of this has been leaving my skin soft and glowy and it even blurred out my pores.

Is your skincare routine extensive or pretty simple?

Speak to you next time!
