Dermalogica Nightly Lip Treatment Review

Danielle Levy, Dermalogica, Nightly Lip Treatment, skincare blogger, beauty blogger, Wirral blogger, Liverpool blogger,

I forever suffer with dry, sore lips thanks to the dry air at work, not drinking enough water and constantly forgetting to use lip balm, especially when I'm on shift so when I got a package from Dermalogica with their Nightly Lip Treatment I had to put it to the test and see if it can salvage my poor lips.

I struggle so much with my lips so testing out this nightly lip treatment over Christmas and New Year couldn't have come at a better time. I never used to have a problem with dry lips but the past couple of years I've noticed that unless I drink plenty of water and really take care of my lips, I end up looking like I've been trapped in the desert. Especially in the Winter, I've noticed that my lips end up really sore, dry and cracked from the cold weather and not drinking enough water regardless of how much lip balm I've been using during the day or whether or not I've been using lipstick that day so it was the perfect time to test out a more intensive lip treatment.

The Nightly Lip Treatment is an anti-ageing treatment for your lips and the skin surrounding your lips that helps to smoothe the appearance of feather lines and wrinkles around your mouth. The rich formula contains Indian Gentian Extract, Sesame Seed Extract and Shea Butter which helps to firm, hydrates and restores the skin on and around your lips. It also helps to improve skin resilience around your lips and restore the barrier function against any visible signs of ageing. It comes in a pump component with a metal applicator tip which is lovely and cooling but it also helps you to massage the product into and around your lips.

The formula whilst intensive isn't super thick and gloopy so it massages straight into your skin without leaving it feeling heavy or greasy. I tend to use this at the end of my nightly skincare routine following a Lush sugar lip scrub which helps to get that layer of dry skin off the top of my lips so that the lip treatment can truly do its job. Even when I've not used a lip scrub, I still find that it really helps with my chapped lips and I can go to sleep with sore, chapped lips and wake up with lovely smooth lips. Its got a very light peppermint scent which I only noticed when I popped it on the back of my hand, but when it's on my lips there's just a light fresh scent that's barely noticeable.

I've even tried it out in the daytime before I apply liquid lipsticks as when it's fully massaged in, it dries matte so it's the perfect base before lipstick. Even though I've been using it for a short while, I've noticed such an improvement in my lips and it's become a staple in my nightly skincare routine and I will definitely be repurchasing it when I run out.

Do you use an intensive night treatment for your lips?
