Review | L'Oreal Elvive Hydra Pure Range

We all know that I've been on a bit of a hair journey and want to keep my hair in as good condition as possible. Recently, I got the chance to try out the Hydra Pure range from L'Oreal Elvive which includes a shampoo, conditioner, and pre-shampoo serum that have been designed for people that may struggle with an oily scalp and roots but also dehydrated lengths. For the last couple of weeks, myself and my mum have been putting it to the test and it's about time that I let you know what we thought of them.

The scalp serum is a pre-shampoo treatment that is filled with salicylic acid to help remove excess oil and impurities whilst the hyaluronic acid to help boost moisture. This scalp serum is £12.99 and is designed to be applied to your scalp and massaged in well before leaving it on for 15 minutes before washing your hair to give you a fresh and purified feeling scalp without leaving your scalp feeling stripped. Not going to lie, I am really bad at remembering to apply scalp serums so I've only used this a handful of times. When I have managed to use this scalp serum, I've found that with the tapered nozzle, it was really easy to apply it directly to my roots. I've used it, I will use it once a week on average because my hair isn't excessively oily and my hair doesn't need to be washed frequently during the week. I like how much this scalp serum compliments the range and I found that this serum really helps my scalp feel cleaner on the days when I've used it with the shampoo and conditioner compared to other hair washing days.

I've been using the Hydra Pure shampoo once a week as a purifying shampoo to help cleanse my scalp without drying out my hair. I really like how this shampoo helps to clear grease, oil and impurities from my scalp to keep my hair and scalp looking and feeling great. I've been using the shampoo with a shampoo brush to really help massage the shampoo into my scalp. I love that this range has a fresh and slightly fruity scent. You only need a small 50p size dollop to do your scalp and I find that it massages in and rinses out without leaving my hair feeling coated in residue. To finish off the range is the rehydrating conditioner is designed to be non-greasy and helps to intensely rehydrate your hair without leaving it feeling weighed down. It is priced at £3.75 for a 200ml bottle. It's also designed to be effective to be used on all hair types. Because I use bleach on my hair a couple of times a year under the pink toner, I really focus on putting as much hydration as I can into my hair. I've been applying this conditioner to the mid-ends of my hair and then clipping it up whilst I have a body shower to give it time to sink in and really hydrate my hair. As I have thin, fine hair I like that this conditioner doesn't weigh my hair down despite leaving it feeling really hydrated.

Overall, I'm really impressed with the L'Oreal Hydra Pure range. It is a great budget option for hair care that actually gives you results without leaving your hair feeling stripped and dried out. I've been a fan of products from the L'Oreal Elvive range in the past and I'm a fan of this Hydra Pure range and it will be a handy purifying and hydrating set to have in my hair care arsenal.
