Review: Flamingo Shaving

Danielle Levy, Flamingo Shaving, Seen Group, shaving, lifestyle blogger, beauty blogger, Liverpool blogger, Wirral blogger,

I am forever that person that cuts themselves when shaving so I'm always up for trying out new shaving brands. Recently the lovely folks at Flamingo sent me some of their goodies from their range to test out and share how I got on with you all.

The folks at Flamingo have spent years before they launched their personal care range talking to women, sharing their personal care rituals, and developing their personal care range to create a range of high-quality, effective products to help promote a positive relationship to body care. Flamingo also set aside 1% of all sales to support several nonprofit organisations which help women build a healthy, positive relationships with themselves. I for one am excited to see what products they expand their personal care range to include next.

Flamingo Razors
I was kindly sent the taro & rose gold razor which is only £8 for the razor, 1 blade and a shower hook. Now I do have a little love/hate relationship with the little holders that come with razors cause after not too long I end up finding that after a month or two, they just never stick to the tiled wall of my shower. Thankfully I've had this one on for Flamingo for a little while now and it seems to be firmly staying in place, even when I just throw my razor into the holder quickly.

I've tried a range of razors from your super cheap to drugstore to monthly subscription razors and with all of them I've managed to end up with either several cuts or spots where I've missed hair. Luckily once you have the set for £8, you can buy a 4-pack of blades for only £8 meaning your shaving needs are sorted for only £2 a month. I find that with the Flamingo blades I get a nice close shave without worrying about my hand shaking (thanks medical conditions!) and ending up with a big cut on my leg/knee/ankle.

Flamingo Personal Care
I also had the Flamingo Foaming Shaving gel and the Ingrown Spot treatment kindly sent to me to test out and overall I'm pretty impressed with them. I'm always a girl that uses shaving gel when I'm shaving so I'm always happy to test out new shaving gels until I find one that I really love. One thing I didn't like about the Flamingo shaving gel container was that once you'd sprayed a little bit into your hand, the container kept fizzing out a very small amount of the shaving gel so it does make things a little messy but overall I loved using the foaming shaving gel. The foaming shaving gel is filled with aloe vera which helps to condition your skin to get you a close, smooth shave. It also has a specially designed formula is designed to stay in place on your wet legs but rinse off cleanly from your razor blades. I do love that Flamingo thinks of everything, they even thought of the container they put their shaving gel in. Each bottle is a special rust-free container which mean you don't end up little rust rings on the tiles/bath in your bathroom.

I don't ever find that I get ingrown hairs from shaving but I do now and again get ingrown hairs from bikini waxing so having the ingrown spot treatment in my arsenal is so handy. The ingrown spot treatment is an exfoliating solution that is designed to help resolve ingrowns and also soothe redness. Luckily I had an ingrown hair just shortly after the product arriving, I cleaned the skin and popped the ingrown spot treatment on morning and evening and I found that within a couple of days it completely settled down. I really loved that it wasn't a formula that took ages to be absorbed so I could pop this on then pop my body lotion and by the time I was ready to get dressed it was dry.

Are you a shaving, waxing or let it grow type of person?

Speak to you next time!
