Having A Cosy Self Care Night In With Lumiere

Danielle Levy, Lumiere, Selfcare, pamper evening, lifestyle blogger, Wirral blogger, Liverpool blogger,

Did anyone else say they were going to use lockdown to practise more self care and have more cosy nights in but then never actually do it as much as they said they would?! Recently I've tried to put less pressure on myself and add little bits of self care into different points of my week and it has massively helped with my anxiety.

Lumiere Lighters
We all know how much I love anything pretty so I was made up when I found these candle lighters from Lumiere as they have a very pretty range of candle lighters that are designed to look lovely left out with your d├ęcor and doesn't need to be hid away in a drawer. I picked up the gold lighter but they do also offer them in silver, rose gold, pewter, pearlescent white, and bronze.

Working on my blog and social media I find that I spend a lot of time switched on and I usually find myself on my phone till late in the evening replying to comments, emails, jotting down blog post ideas, writing captions and planning hashtags so a big part of self care for me is setting myself a limit everyday. These fluctuate on a daily basis whether I feel like I need more of a rest in the morning and will work till later in the evening, sometimes it's getting up at 7am and finishing at 5/6pm. When it gets to my cut off time for that day, my laptop goes off, I try not to interact with social media and I allow my work brain to just switch off.

Once my work brain is switched off it's time to get in my cosiest pj's and curl up with popcorn, hot chocolate, my favourite tv show or a book and light some candles. A lot of the time if I'm having a bad pain day, I'll also try soaking in a bubble bath with Epsom salts and lighting my favourite lavender candle before I unwind for the evening as it'll not only help with some of the muscular pain but also to help with the heightened anxiety I get on those bad pain days.

You can pick up these beautiful Lumiere candle lighters from Waitrose, Ocado, Wilko's, Morrisons, and Tesco. They've become a great addition to my home as I no longer have to search through drawers to find the not so pretty candle lighter, I can leave my Lumiere candle lighter right out on a tray with my candles or wax melter and don't have to worry about it sticking out like a sore thumb.

What's your favourite way to practise self care?

Speak to you next time!
