Skincare For Dry & Sensitive Skin | Balmonds

Danielle Levy, Balmonds Skincare, beauty blogger, Wirral blogger, Liverpool blogger,

My skin has really been going through it these past couple of months thanks to the cold weather, heating and face masks. So after trying the Balmonds Skin Salvation back in December, I decided to give the rest of their skincare a go and when searching through the skincare on their website, I found the Cleansing Oil and Intensive Facial Oil so I thought I would share with you all how I got on with both of them.

Omega-Rich Cleansing Oil
The Omega-Rich Cleansing Oil is designed to be a natural alternative to soap-based cleansers or synthetic makeup removers, to help cleanse whilst nourishing your skin instead of stripping your skin of it's natural oils. The formula is completely natural and it suitable to be used by even the most sensitive of skin, it is also free of parabens, perfumes and preservatives so you know that it's going to soothe your dry skin without irritating it.

  • Rosehip oil ~ Rich in vitamin A and C whilst also containing Omegas 3 and 6 which delivers essential nutrients directly to damaged skin.
  • Organic calendula ~ Marigold flowers are steeped in pure sunflower oil to extract their soothing, regenerative properties.
  • Organic safflower oil ~ A light, easily absorbed oil which is rich in linoleic acid which is perfect for keeping your sensitive skin soft and supple.
I've been using the Omega-Rich Cleansing Oil as the first step in my double cleansing routine whether I'm wearing makeup or not and I've really been loving it. I do feel like it leaves a layer on my skin but it feels like a layer that helps trap moisture into my skin and leaves my skin feeling super soft. I find that you only need a couple of drops of the Cleansing Oil to to do your whole face and if I'm wearing heavy makeup I'll put a couple of extra drops on my fingertips and apply it to my eye makeup or waterproof mascara. It really helps me to get rid of all the makeup and dirt from the day. The Cleansing Oil washes off really easily, all I use some hot water and my Bare Face Sponges.

Intensive Facial Oil
The Intensive Facial Oil is a gentle conditioning oil that is designed to nourish and hydrate delicate skin but you can actually use it anywhere on your body that needs it and is also the perfect treatment to use overnight to help with breakouts, scarring, blotchiness as well as helping with uneven skin tone. They also state it is safe for pregnant women and new mothers who may suffer from sensitive skin and it's supposed to be good for stretch marks (which I'm going to have to try out).

  • Palmarosa essential oil ~ A nourishing and rejuvenating oil that is supportive of skin cell renewal.
  • Lavender & Roman Chamomile essential oils ~ Naturally antimicrobial essential oils that calm and protect your skin whilst also leaving the oil smelling delicious.
  • Grape seed oil ~ High in vitamin E and linoleic acid that is a light carrier oil.
I've been obsessed with using oils and serums in my skincare this Winter, so I've been using the Intensive Facial Oil every evening as well as on the days that I'm not wearing makeup. Of a night I pop on a bit more of the oil and then use my jade roller to give myself a little evening pamper before bed. I find that I only need a couple of drops to do my whole face and neck and it just melts into my skin, if I've got a particularly dry spot on my face (or body) I'll use another drop or two on that particular area. I absolutely love the scent of this, on me the lavender really comes out so I find it really relaxing to use before bed, especially paired with the Sound Sleep Cocoon. Even better my skin is like baby soft the next morning when I wake up!
