White Peppermint Hot Chocolate | Wellness Lab Collagen

Danielle Levy, Wellness Lab, Peppermint White Hot Chocolate, food blogger, lifestyle blogger, Wirral blogger, Liverpool blogger,

2021 is the year that I'm going to start taking care of myself physically and mentally and one of the ways that I'm doing that is focusing on filling my diet with yummy food whilst also making it as easy as possible because lets face it after a long shift or night shift, my motivation just disappears. So I thought I would share with you all the recipe for my peppermint hot chocolate including the Wellness Lab Vanilla Collagen because I love festive flavours all year round.

One way I've been trying to take care of my body and my skin in particular is by taking regular collagen supplements cause if you haven't heard I have the body of a 90-year old and my joints and skin is wrecked, especially after this last year. If you didn't already know collagen is the main protein in your body, it's found in your skin, tendons, ligaments and other connective tissues. Whilst your body does create collagen naturally, your levels dip as you get older so taking supplements is found to help improve skin elasticity and promote joint health as well as other claims.

I decided that this year I didn't want to take yet another pill and through my little bit of internet research, I found the Wellness Lab Vanilla Collagen (you can get this in plain, cocoa or vanilla) which I can be added into literally anything I want to eat. I've already tried it in my overnight oats, smoothies and various baking dishes and I'm already a big fan. The Wellness Lab Vanilla Collagen contains type 1 & 2 which is the type of collagen that is primarily found in your skin and bones. My favourite way to have it at the moment is adding it into my nightly hot chocolate or I'll switch it up and add it into my morning coffee that I take to work so I thought I would share the recipe with you all.

  • Crush 1-2 peppermint candy canes or you can cheat and add peppermint syrup (you can buy these online), I generally use 1.5 candy canes and save half to sprinkle on top.
  • Warm a cup of milk in the microwave.
  • Then add 2 tsps of Wellness Lab Vanilla Collagen, 2 tsps of your favourite white hot chocolate and 1.5 of your crushed candy canes. This is going to sound really odd but whisk it with a fork, it completely gets out all the clumps and makes it a bit more frothy.
  • Add your favourite toppings. My favourites are marshmallows and crushed candy canes or if I'm using syrup instead I'll add a little bit of whipped cream and marshmallows.
  • Then curl up with your favourite book and enjoy!
I love adding the Wellness Lab Vanilla Collagen to drinks and snacks because it literally just gives you a lovely vanilla taste without any funny after taste that you sometimes get with some other supplements. I'd highly recommend having a bag in your cupboard if you are looking to add some more collagen into your diet because it's such an easy way to get some collagen into your diet, you only need to add 2tsps into coffee, hot chocolates, smoothies, oats or baked goods to get your daily amount so it's so easy to use.

Are you a coffee lover or a hot chocolate lover?

Speak to you next time!
