Saving My Spotty Skin | Antipodes Aura Manuka Honey Mask Review

Danielle Levy, Antipodes, Antipodes Manuka Honey, beauty blogger, Wirral blogger, Liverpool blogger,

As well as being a bit of a skincare addict, I'm self-confessed face mask lover so you know when a new face mask that I haven't tried lands on my doorstep, I have to start testing it straight away. The lovely folks at Antipodes sent me over a little Manuka Honey Skincare Heroes gift to try and soothe my poor skin and help heal some of the maskne I've been suffering with.

Antipodes are a New Zealand beauty brand who's products are all natural and organic as well as being certified vegetarian in the UK. As well all of that, they're also eco-friendly and the Aura Manuka Honey mask comes in a recyclable aluminium tube and the box is made of biodegradable cardboard from sustainable forests and is printed with vegetable ink.

The hero ingredient in the mask is the Manuka Honey, not only does it help nourish your skin by drawing moisture and locking it in but it is also anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory so it's great for balancing the skin's pH levels and targeting breakouts as well as calming your skin. With regular use, the Manuka Honey helps to rejuvenate your skin and restore your natural glow. It also contains Pohutukawa Bloom which is a bioactive extract from a New Zealand native tree that helps to condition and deeply moisturises your skin.

The Aura Manuka Honey mask is designed to be used at night twice a week or whenever you feels like your skin needs it, it can also be used as a mini spot mask whenever breakouts arise. All you do it smooth a thick layer wherever you need it and leave it on for 15 minutes (or overnight for more intensive treat for your skin!) and wash it off with warm water before doing your usual skincare routine. I've been using the Aura Manuka Honey mask once or twice a week (depending on how good I'm being with my skincare routine) in combination with the Manuka Honey Skin-Brightening eye cream and Manuka Honey Skin-Brightening light day cream and my skin has absolutely been loving them.

My breakouts have definitely gone WAY down, any any redness or irritation I get around spots now is so much better than it was. I feel like my skin was genuinely red and white for a while because my skin was freaking out so much with face masks. Once a week I try and leave the Aura Manuka Honey mask on overnight and when I wake up the next morning, my skin is the softest any product has ever gotten it which is amazing considering how dry my skin gets especially with the cold weather coming in. Even when I leave it on for 15 minutes, my cheeks which get the driest are super soft and my skin is left with a light layer that locks the moisture into my skin. I must say that the scent of the Aura Manuka Honey mask is so good, it's a vanilla and honey combined scent that's actually really relaxing and calming to smell so it's perfect for applying and relaxing in a bubble bath or reading a book for 15 minutes.

Are you an Antipodes fan?

Speak to you next time!
