Changing The Way We Look At Shaving | Estrid Razors

Danielle Levy, Estrid Razor, beauty blogger, Wirral blogger, Liverpool blogger,

Is it just me or is your razor the one beauty thing you always forget to replace on a regular basis and it just sits on the wall in the shower?! Hair removal is definitely something that I am a bit hit and miss with doing, it's always something that I've done for me and not for a guy or because society says that I should do. Let's face it I have very light blonde body hair so 99% of the time you can barely see it so if one day I really don't feel like doing it, I simply don't. I was recently introduced to Estrid, an amazing female-focused razor brand that completely alines with my views on shaving so I wanted to share it with you all!

Estrid Razor
Estrid created the first 100% vegan 5-blade razor that is specifically designed for those of us out there that believe hair removal should be a pain-free affair on the skin, your wallet and for the Planet. The company was created all from the fact that most women shave with men's razors purely because most shaving brands are targeted towards men but also offer their men's razor at a much cheaper price compared to their women's razors. They offer a razor starter kit and razor head subscription service that can be customised to your needs so you don't have to worry about going to use your razor when you fancy shaving and finding that your razor is blunt.

Hair removal should be optional. Great hair removal shouldn't.

Now I am a single mid-20's girl and I sometimes get a bit girl lazy and sometimes don't shave on a regular basis...I know I'm not the only girl out there and I love the whole ethos behind the Estrid brand.

To start your journey with Estrid, you can sign up for the starter kit for only £7.95 in which you get the steel handle, wall holder and two razor cartridges. I love that even for such a reasonable price you get to choose from five different colours for your steel handle and wall holder. You can then purchase four replacement razor cartridges for £9.95 in a subscription service that you can change it to be delivered whenever you want and it can be cancelled at any point. As well as selling their vegan razors, you can also purchase travel holders so you can take it with you on trips away if you wish, shave cream, body lotion and body oil wash. With every purchase you make on the Estrid website, the lovely folks at Estrid donate a portion of the sales to the Fawcett Society Foundation which is the UK's leading membership charity working for gender equality and women's rights to work.

My razor arrived super quickly and came in a super cute box that was thin enough that it fitted in my postbox, I'm not exactly sure how big the box your cartridge subscription comes in but I'm hoping that it's small enough to fit through a standard letterbox cause then you don't need to worry about missing it coming and having to go to the post office. Inside your starter kit, it comes packaged in fuss-free packaging with care instructions for your razor as well as a razor care manual.

Your body, your control!

Now I am a very clumsy person in general so you can only imagine how much worse that gets when I have a shower and things get all wet and slippery. But I've been pleasantly surprised with how durable the razor is, the steel handle with the rubber underside is nice and weighty so you can get a clean shave and with the rubber underside you know that it's not going to slip out your hand and cut yourself (and yes that has happened to me before with other razors!). Each razor head contains a blend of aloe vera and shea butter to soothe your skin, normally I find that when razor heads have those moisturising bars I feel like it just leaves my skin like an oily mess and I'm not able to get a clean shave because of the layer of oil on my skin.

The first time I used this, I honestly was so surprised how smooth and clean the shave was and afterwards I wasn't left with any irritation, shaving burn or bumps which was a huge plus for my sensitive skin. Even though they had kindly gifted me the starter kit, I'm definitely going to be looking at setting up the razor head subscription which you can get once a month (for those that shave every day), once every two months (for those that shave a couple of times a week) or once every three months (for those that shave once a week or less).

Are you an all natural or a take it all off person?

Speak to you next time!
